Ko Cheok Hee (Cho Yeo Jeong) is not liked at the law firm. Recall she agrees to a vote. If the majority of the team wants her fired, she’ll leave willingly. Bong Min Gyu (Shim Hyung Tak) leads the vote among the office. The swing vote is our lawyer leading man, So Jung Woo (Yeon Woo Jin). He is torn. Originally he wanted her gone. But now he sees the job is important to her. She’s trying to make this work even though she is back at the bottom of the pecking order. He ends up voting for her. She stays!
Next we get into the next divorce case. Wife is mad husband is cheating on her again. She has a crane (yes you read that correctly) lift her to the exterior window of the lover’s apartment. She spies her husband, his lover and her engagement ring on the lover’s finger. Jung Woo goes up via a crane too and talks her out of breaking the exterior window. It is a bit ridiculous.
Things look bad for the wife at the police station. The husband’s lawyer is smart and capable. The wife is put in a holding cell. Jung Woo manages to get eh wife released because of her young daughter.
We learn Jung Woo was in a subway accident years ago and he is still skittish about subways. A mystery woman saved him by giving him a mint and an exit from the subway. He wonders if the mystery mint woman might be Cheok Hee.
Jung Woo has a nice conversation with his mother. She admits that getting divorced from her father allowed her to evolve into the real her. She is strong and independent something she could not achieve married. Best moment of the show.
Gently Jung Woo asks the daughter to help even things up by getting information on his cell phone. She agrees to make it a fair fight between her parents. Cheok Hee is impressed by Jung Woo’s sensitivity towards the daughter.
The daughter is able to send evidence from her father’s cell phone to Jung Woo.
Cheok Hee learns Jung Woo voted to have her stay in the office.
* This episode was a bit of a step back. The divorce case double crane scene was silly. The subway accident was not impressively staged or produced. Good points of the episode – 1) Jung Woo’s conversation with his mother (who told him divorce had allowed her to evolve to her authentic self). 2) Jung Woo talking to the daughter of the parents in the divorce case. His gentle care was nice too see. Cheok Hee admired him in that moment.
