Finally they get some quality alone time this episode.
He returns to his apartment. Unable to stay away, she comes to see him. She lies to her husband where she is going. They listen to recordings of his playing. She advises him acting as his teacher but he shuts her down wanting this to be more. You can see them growing closer listening to the music. She is visibly touched by his playing.
Unbeknownst to them her husband has come to the apartment and is listening outside the door. When she asks for a hug, he counters that he will give her a hug. The husband, visibly disturbed at what he is hearing, leaves. He gives her a warm bear hug willing her to respond. She slowly runs her hands up his back pulling him to her. You get the feeling she is starved for affection. She drinks in his love and longing. She has feelings for him, it has been so long since someone has touched her heart. Excellent moment.
The girlfriend calls when she is close to the apartment and they flee on a borrowed moped. They are all smiles driving around the city. The classical music during this scene adds intimacy. Another excellent moment between the two of them.
When she gets home she coolly lies to her husband. He broods knowing she is drawn to another. I like that the husband knows. What will he do?
She laments to her girlfriend that her body is sagging and her heart turned into sand years ago. She wonders how she can compete with a 20 year old.
The rest of the show is filler.
After a draining evening she drives to his place and asks him to drive her around for 2 hours. He comes out, buckles up, and off they go. Seems like an odd place to end the episode and I must say other episodes have ended abruptly too.
