Great Seducer Episode 13
After Tae Hee breaks up with him, Kwon Shi Hyun (Woo Do Hwan) gets drunk as a skunk. Lee Se Joo (Kim Min Jae) and Choi Soo Ji (Mun Ka Young) come to his aide. Soo Ji is taken aback when Shi Hyun demands to know what she said to Tae Hee (that triggered the breakup). Cool as a cucumber Soo Ji replies that she told Eun Tae that he liked both of them. Shi Hyun chuckles and agrees and applauds her honesty. Soo Ji sweeps out of the bar with Se Joo hot on her heels. They have a charged moment outside the bar arguing about the kiss Shi Hyun couldn’t give her which Se Joo believes twisted them. To make the point that a kiss is a trifle, Soo Ji kisses Se Joo. He stares at her stunned and she leaves.
In the bar Shi Hyun staggers and collapses. He’s taken to the hospital. He recalls visiting his mother often in the hospital during her treatment. It is revealed that Soo Ji’s mother was Shi Hyun’s mother’s primary care doctor. Shi Hyun visits Soo Ji’s mother in her office and asks about the car accident his mother was in, the one there is no record of. He notes the only accident was a hit and run with a student. Soo Ji’s mother stuns Shi Hyun by suggesting that his mother was the driver in the hit and run accident. When Soo arrives at her mother’s office she sees Shi Hyun’s distress. But she doesn’t enter his room, instead she walks away.
Eun Tae Hee (Joy) decides to move out of the apartment. It’s too painful being near Shi Hyun. But he doesn’t return her texts. Irked, she calls him only to have a stranger answer the phone. She goes to the hospital to return the phone. Shi Hyun is happy to see her. Eun Tae tries to keep the wall between them. Shi Hyun admits that does like Soo Ji but it is only as a friend. He shyly tells Eun Tae he likes her. Touched Eun Tae agrees to stay with him. She warns him that if they ever fall out of like, they must be honest because one-sided relationships blow.
Soo Ji’s mother and Shi Hyun’s father (not bio-dad, which Eun Tae learns by reading the blood results that Shi Hyun gave her) decide to set their wedding date for next month.
Summary – This episode had more honesty from this cast of characters than any other. It was refreshing.
Great Seducer Episode 14
Shi Hyun and Tae Hee decide to keep their revived a relationship a secret. Ko Kyung Joo tells Shi Hyun that while she doesn’t fully like him, she can give him a break for Tae Hee. Soo Ji asks Kyung Joo who Tae Hee is walking with. Kyung Joo identities Tae Hee’s mother and Aunt. Does Soo Ji recognize Tae Hee’s mother as the woman Shi Hyun’s father is seeing on the side?
Se Joo opens an eatery near school. Everyone gathers. It is like old times.
After bemoaning that she’ll never meet her mystery man that she’s fallen in love with, Park Hye Jung is overjoyed when Se Joo recognizes the man. Everyone works together to facilitate a date between the love-struck couple. She proudly showed her turtle picture and he proudly shows his iguana picture. They are a match made in heaven.
Tae Hee gets Shi Hyun a gig creating a mural. As he walks home he sees Soo Ji. She asks for a ride to the hospital. When they arrive, they see protesters demanding Soo Ji’s mother’s resignation. Soo Ji is horrified when her mother exits the building and the protestors spelt her with raw eggs. Shi Hyun hold her back saying her mother wouldn’t want to her see this. Distraught and desperate to end their parent’s engagement, Soo Ji declares they should get married, she doesn’t care about any conditions. Shi Hyun refuses saying that moment has passed between them. He warns her not use their friendship as a weapon. Stunned, Soo Ji blurts that his father is seeing another woman. That gets Shi Hyun’s attention and he demands to know who the other woman is.
Shi Hyun’s father finds out he’s going blind. He flirts with Tae Hee’s mother via text.
Summary – The ending angst was a stark contrast to the fun episode.
My Thoughts
Is Tae Hee the student in the hit and run accident? If so, was Shi Hyun’s mother the driver? Tae Hee admitted she was in an accident. We know Shi Hyun’s mother was supposedly in an accident. Soo Ji’s mother suggested Shi Hyun’s mother was the hit and run driver. Is it that simple or is there more?
Kwon Shi Hyun (Woo Do Hwan) claimed he liked Soo Ji as a friend. This seems like a bold-faced lie, but Shi Hyun appeared sincere when he said those words to Eun Tae. Then he rejected Soo Ji’s marriage offer, though desperation fueled it. It is clear the Shi Hyun is happier with the straight forward and honest Tae Hee. But Soo Ji has history and a hold on him still.
Choi Soo Ji (Mun Ka Young) stunned Se Joo with a kiss. She was trying to make the point that a mere kiss could be meaningless but it had the opposite effect on Se Joo. I don’t understand why she didn’t enter Shi Hyun’s hospital room when she knew he was hurting. Soo Ji seems to be the character that misses opportunities to have “real” moments instead hiding behind snide remarks and consequently she’s being left behind.
Lee Se Joo (Kim Min Jae) declared he would date Soo Ji. Shi Hyun told him to go for it. Soo Ji kissed him. Se Joo revealed he knew about Shi Hyun and Soo Ji’s bet for marriage. Se Joo’s eatery seemed to be a hit. Even though he wants to date Soo Ji, he can’t break down her walls, so he’s stuck on the outside.
Eun Tae Hee (Joy) returned Shi Hyun’s cell phone and reengaged. She thought she’s only return his cell phone but she ended up reengaging with him. Does she believe that Shi Hyun only has friendship for Soo Ji? Did the subtitles miss a nuance? Tae Hee wasn’t excited about her mother’s interest in another man. What a tangled mess when Shi Hyun finds out that her mother is involved with his father. It will undoubtedly cause issues for our young couple.

I don’t trust Soo Ji’s mother. I think that she is the one who was involved in the hit and run accident, and then she hit Shi Hyun’s mother as well. Of course Tae Hee is the hit & run victim-this is dramaland, after all. Of course, this info will be another blow to Tae Hee/Shi Hyun couple since they will believe that SH’s mom caused Tae Hee to be hurt before (hopefully) the real truth emerges.
One question I have is why is SH’s father covering up the mom’s death? He and Soo Ji’s mom both know the truth of what happened that night but are trying to hide what happened. We’ve seen that SH Dad doesn’t care about SJ Mom at all, so he’s not interested in protecting her involvement. From what they showed of the accident, it looked like SH Mom was alive after SJ Mom hit her, so I wonder how SH Mom really died, and why lie about it?
The romance/date between Hye Jung and Joo An was just too cute this episode. I laughed so hard when they both showed pictures of their pets to each other. And of course the pets are both reptiles! Truly it is fate! 🙂 I was surprised though when Joo An was not the math tutor, since he is Danceny in this version. I fully expected him to be the tutor since that is how they meet in the novel. I’m not sure what is going on with Hye Jung’s Mother other than she’s a Dirty Old Lady? She definitely won’t let Hye Jung anywhere near Joo An since he was one of the boys at her karaoke party. Also, she keeps calling Se Joo’s sis in law (and others) unnie, but she looks older than them herself.
Again, the “breakup” of SH & TH didn’t last very long. I was expecting the separation to be longer than one 30 min episode. Writer continues to move their relationship at a very fast pace.

Soo Ji’s mother is more of a schemer than I first thought. Do you think she hit Tae Hee first then decided to blame/plant evidence on Shi Hyun’s mother? Did she want to eliminate Shi Hyun’s mother? I wonder Shi Hyun’s father really knows what happened on the night his wife died. Does he only know what Soo Ji’s mother told him? Did they plan it together?
I laughed so hard when they both showed pictures of their pets to each other. And of course the pets are both reptiles!

I definitely think Soo Ji’s Mom hit Tae Hee. I hadn’t thought she could have framed Shi Hyun’s Mom for the hit & run but now that you say it- yes, it could be. The woman is capable of it for sure. Everything related to the night of the accident just brings out more questions. I only hope that writer will give satisfactory answers, since the writing in this drama continues to be uneven.

After Shi Hyun’s non-bio philandering dad, Seok Woo ✌️❌, cheated on his wife 😷 in the past AND on his current fiancé (hmmm … both with Tae Hee’s mom, Young Won ⚱️) and abandoned Shi Hyun 🕺🌹, who grew up as his son, is the writer trying to evoke sympathy by having Seok Woo ✌️❌ go blind supposed to evoke sympathy? I’m not buying it; if Seok Woo ✌️❌ is going blind, he should be work on solidifying his relationships to build security for himself not shred relationships.
When Soo Ji’s mom, Mi Ri 👩⚕️, hit Shi Hyun’s mom 😷 in one of the previous episodes, it looked like she 👩⚕️ was genuinely surprised to see the victim of the accident was her patient, Shi Hyun’s mom 😷; I don’t think she was gunning for Shi Hyun’s mom 😷 then, but the question is: was Mi Ri 👩⚕️ trying to seduce Seok Woo ✌️❌ back then? While we don’t know for sure who perpetrated the hit and run on the teenager (Tae Hee 🏺?), it is logical to conclude that it was a drunk 🍸 Mi Ri 👩⚕️, who hit someone else’s car 🏎️. I’m going to be incensed if it turns out Mi Ri 👩⚕️ is actually guilty of the hit and run accident on the teenager since Mi Ri 👩⚕️ suggested to Shi Hyun 🕺🌹 that his mom 😷 was responsible.
I find it curious the accident that Shi Hyun’s mom 😷 eventually died from was covered up. What as Seok Woo’s ✌️❌ motivation to cover-up? Was he also cheating WITH Mi Ri 👩⚕️ back then? It seems as though Seok Woo ✌️❌ wants the merger with Mi Ri’s 👩⚕️ hospital 🏥 to bring some semblance of respectability to JK, but isn’t the hospital 🏥 associated with whatever the scandal that landed Soo Ji’s dad 🚔 in prison? Something just does NOT add up; we need the rest of the story.
The other thing that doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense is how Soo Ji 👸🐝 seems to constantly vehemently despise her mother 👩⚕️ verbally and yet she opposes Mi Ri’s 👩⚕️ marriage thinking it will hurt her mom and then Shi Hyun 🕺🌹 had to physically hold her back from running to her mother when she was pelted with eggs 🥚.
When Soo Ji 👸🐝 kissed Se Joo 🕶️👨, she had absolutely NO CLUE what a profound affect it had on him; Se Joo 🕶️👨 is smitten 😍! Unless Soo Ji 👸🐝 changes her ways, she will NEVER let Se Joo 🕶️👨 into her heart. Se Joo 🕶️👨 is so likeable, I don’t want him to be in a relationship with Soo Ji 👸🐝, unless she genuinely loves him and quits manipulating the people around her.
Color 🖍️ me 🎊surprised🎉 the Shi Hee 🕺🏺 breakup was a short as it was. I’m glad he seems to be developing feelings for her AND he let Soo Ji 👸🐝 know that he now likes her as a friend only.
I concur with Table122000 that the romance between Hye Jung 🐰 and Joo An was adorable! It is so nice to see someone truly happy in this drama. I agree Hye Jung’s mom will not allow this relationship. I wonder if Hye Jung’s mom calls the women in her social circle “unnie” out of deference to their social superiority.

Agreed that she did not recognize the impact of her kiss. Does she ever recognize or care about the ramifications of her actions?
