Flower of Evil Episode 13

Flashback…1997…a young Baek Hee Sung stands on the roof of the school. He holds a brick over the side and drops it on an unsuspecting student. He tells the principal that he was distraught over bad grades and doesn’t remember what happened after that. He’s sent out of the room leaving Gong Mi Ja (Nam Gi Ae) (Hee Sung’s Mother). She declares this is her fault. Hee Sung wipes away the crocodile tears and smiles. He finds Hyun Soo and his father waiting. When Hyun Soo leaves, Do Min Seok (Do Hyun Soo’s Father) knows who Hee Sung is and what he’s done. He asks Hee Sung why he threw the brick. Hee Sung claims he was depressed. Do Min Seok believes Hee Sung was curious what would happen. Hee Sung scoffs. Do Min Seok says Hee Sung doesn’t know how to have fun. Do Min Seok says he needs to find another like him. Do Min Seok suggests Hee Sung is lonely.

Baek Hee Sung (Kim Ji Hoon) and Baek Man Woo (Son Jong Hak) (Hee Sung’s Father) load the dead housekeeper into the trunk. Cha Ji Won (Moon Chae Won) and Do Hyun Soo (Lee Joon Gi) ring the doorbell. Mr. Baek is shocked to see them on the screen. Mrs. Baek ask why they’ve come. Hyun Soo reports he has something to tell them. Ji Won says she knows what happened in the house. She suggests the Baeks talk to them. The door opens. Ji Won and Hyun Soo enter the house. Mr. and Mrs. Baek wait in the living room. Mr. Baek asks why they are there. Mrs. Baek asks what they know. Ji Won asks what they are hiding. Mr. Baek asks if Ji Won knows about her husband and if she’ll accept it. Ji Won vows to stay by Hyun Soo’s side. Mr. Baek says there is much to talk about. Ji Won says another person lives here. She asks where he is.

Mr. and Mrs. Baek take Ji Won and Hyun Soo to Hee Sung’s secret room. He’s hooked to the CPAP machine. Mrs. Baek says they argued because of the car accident and something happened. Mr. Baek states that the drugs to keep their son alive created a cascade of organ failure. Mr. Baek says the state of their son is their untold secret. He offers to let Hyun Soo live as Hee Sung. Hyun Soo looks at his watch and says now they’ll learn who the accomplice was.

CEO Yeom Sang Cheol drive to the summer house to kill Hyun Soo. Detective Choi Jae Sub (Choi Young Joon) and the police are waiting for him.

Mr. Baek asks what they want. Mr. Baek wants to know if Hyun Soo thinks he knows who the accomplice is. Hyun Soo points out that only Mr. Baek knows he was going to the summer house.

Flashback…Mr. Baek tells CEO Yeom to get the job done.

Hyun Soo believes Mr. Baek gave CEO Yeom the address and time. Ji Won says the police are waiting for CEO Yeom.

A car arrives at the summer house. A man exits the car. They arrest him.

Hyun Soo relays that CEO Yeom was offered double dollars not to reveal the accomplice. Hyun Soo says the only person that knew the dollar amount Hyun Soo was providing was Mr. Baek. Hyun Soo believes Mr. Baek is the accomplice. He stands outraged. Ji Won says she’ll arrest him once the police capture CEO Yeom. Mr. Baek laughs. Detective Choi calls Hyun Soo who takes the call. Detective Choi reports the caretaker came to the summer cabin not CEO Yeom per Mr. Baek’s directions. Hyun Soo realizes he was played. Mr. Baek declares he’s not a serial killer. Hyun Soo tells Ji Won that Mr. Baek sent the caretaker to the summer cabin. Mr. Baek swears he was NOT the accomplice. He says they are trying to force the evidence to frame him. Hyun Soo says his gut tells him Mr. Baek did it. Mrs. Baek declares she’s the person responsible.

Out of his sick bed, Hee Sung declares Hyun Soo will be a game piece in his board game.

Mrs. Baek gives the housekeeper’s note to Ji Won. Before she can read it, the lights go out. Mr. Baek says he’ll flip the circuit breaker. He opens the door and sees his son.

Flashback…As Mr. Baek directs CEO Yeom to go to the summer house, Hee Sung takes the phone and asks if he spilled the family secrets to Hyun Soo. CEO Yeom says he told Hyun Soo that someone paid him to kill him. Hee Sung directs CEO Yeom to do nothing and sit tight. He hangs up. Hee Sung tells his parents Hyun Soo has created a trap for CEO Yeom and them. They are taken aback. Hee Sung realizes Hyun Soo is fishing for evidence. Hee Sung says they’ll create a situation for Hyun Soo tonight.

Hee Sung exits his parents’ house.

Ji Won points out that the housekeeper is deaf and dumb. Therefore, she cannot be the person that communicated with Do Min Seok or CEO Yeom. Mrs. Baek declares others like Moo Jin and his sister know the secret. Hyun Soo believes she’s hiding something. Mrs. Baek tells him to trust her. Hyun Soo asks why. Mrs. Baek agrees he doesn’t have a reason.

Flashback…Hee Sung tells his parents to create the time he’ll need by dawdling over the circuit breaker and lighting candles.

Mrs. Baek says she’ll light some candles. She leaves Ji Won and Hyun Soo at the table. Ji Won says something isn’t right. Mrs. Baek drops items. Hyun Soo goes to her side to help clean up. Mrs. Baek tells Hyun Soo she considered him family.  Hyun Soo says he never worried about her feelings.  The lights come on.

Mrs. Baek returns to the table. Ji Won asks if Mrs. Baek needs to check on her son because of the electrical devices he’s hooked to. Mr. Baek returns and says their son has a battery backup.

Hee Sung goes to Hyun Soo’s car and plants evidence, hairs of the housekeeper.

Flashback…Hee Sung takes hairs from the housekeeper’s dead body.

Hee Sung sprinkles the hair and smiles.

Do Hae Sue (Do Hyun Soo’s sister) stares at the necklace that Moo Jin returned to her. She can’t believe he kept the token from the High School relationship all these years. She hears a sound outside. She opens the door to investigate. She goes outside to look around. She finds cigarette butts. She looks and sees a man’s handprint on her window.

Ji Won and Hyun Soo drive away. Ji Won suggests the police take over the investigation now. Hyun Soo says the housekeeper is the key. He’s adamant he must speak with her. He tells Ji Won that he must stop the accomplice from being able to hurt those he loves. Ji Won takes her husband’s hand. She tells him her team catch criminals. She believes CEO Yeom is the key that will reveal who the accomplice is. She assures her husband they’ll catch CEO Yeom. Hyun Soo smiles at her confidence. Their daughter Baek Eun Ha (Jung Seo Yeon) and Ji Won’s mother video calls. They assure her they are on their way to pick her up.

CEO Yeom goes to the hospital where Mr. Baek works. He scoffs that he won’t stay out of it.

A woman is led to a room where CEO Yeom waits. CEO Yeom asks if she can be discharged. For the right price. CEO Yeom offers his luxury watch. CEO Yeom smiles and says this woman is his insurance. He tells the woman, Jung Mi Sook, the supposed last victim of Do Min Seok, it has been awhile.

Flashback…Moments when Mr. Park searches for his wife and her killer.

Jung Mi Sook asks CEO Yeom why he called her that name. CEO Yeom smiles.

A man calls Hyun Soo with information about Ji Won and Eun Ha. We know it’s Hee Sung. He tells Hyun Soo he’s a fan of his art. Hyun Soo demands to know how the man knows about him. The man says Hyun Soo is too sensitive. Hyun Soo realizes his worst nightmare is coming true.

He searches for the phone number and finds it is a payphone. Hyun Soo drives to the payphone. He sees a green car. He calls the owner for the dashcam video. She tells him she’s on vacation. Hyun Soo sees the words hide and seek on the payphone. Hyun Soo reads the man’s words – I can see you but you can’t see me.

Workers find the housekeeper’s body.

Hyun Soo realizes the cadence of the caller is the same as the man that left the voice mail for Mrs. Nam. He’s distracted and Ji Won snaps him out of it. Eun Ha asks where her father went last night. Ji Won asks where he went. Ji Won gets a phone call reporting a body that was found. She leaves. Hee Sung asks his daughter if she’s spoken to a stranger lately. She says no. She recites the stranger danger rules.

Ji Won arrives at the site where the housekeeper was found. Detective Choi Jae Sub (Choi Young Joon) takes her to the body’s location.

Reporter Kim Moo Jin (Seo Hyun Woo) and his boss meet with a TV producer. He asks Moo Jin to join his panel discussion show. He says Moo Jin’s live stream was cool and gathered many views. Moo Jin learns a body minus a fingernail was found.

Officer Im Ho Joon (Kim Jin Woo), Detective Choi, and Ji Won watch forensics uncover the body. They don’t know who the victim is. They uncover a notebook.

Hae Sue tells her brother last night a man lurked around her apartment during the time he was at the Baek’s house. She called the police but nothing can be done at this time. Hyun Soo shares he got a strange call from a man that wasn’t Mr. Baek. He admits he believes it might be the same man that left the voice recording for Mrs. Nam. Moo Jin arrives and reports a murder victim minus a fingernail has been found.

The police look at 3 notes the victim wrote to someone (other than Mr. and Mrs. Baek) that was threatening her. Detective Choi believes she was writing about the killer. Ji Won gulps at the mention of Mr. and Mrs. Baek. Officer Im gets the information of the victim’s identity. He reports there is a fingerprint they are running. The team is thrilled. Ji Won is uneasy.

Mr. Baek reads the web article of the body that was found. His assistant gives him the list of names of the volunteers for his foundation.

Officer Im and Ji Won visit the forensics officer who explains the fingerprint can’t be found in the databases. Ji Won feels uneasy. Detective Choi calls Ji Won to state the victim was the Baek’s housekeeper. Ji Won realizes that Hee Sung intended to find the housekeeper last night. She tells Officer Im she needs the car to check something right away.

Hyun Soo is sure that the accomplice called him. He believes the accomplice is obsessed with him. Hae Sue wonders why the accomplice started killing again. Moo Jin guesses the accomplice was in a situation, such as prison, where he couldn’t murder. Hyun Soo asks Moo Jin to find out who was put in prison 18 years ago and released. Hyun Soo tells his sister to stay with Moo Jin. He reminds her she saw the accomplice’s face at their father’s funeral. Hyun Soo declares he’s going to meet with CEO Yeom.

CEO Yeom leads Jung Mi Sook to an abandoned house. She asks if her family will come soon. She admits she doesn’t remember anything but walking aimlessly. She ended up in the hospital. She thanks CEO Yeom for finding her family. CEO Yeom says he’s doing this for money. He tells her she’s an important person to many people.

Ji Won arrives home and takes her husband’s fingerprint. She compares it to the fingerprint that can’t be match in the databases. It matches. She calls her mother to ask her to pick up Eun Ha from school.

Hee Sung tells his mother the housekeeper’s body was found and the police will call soon. He tells her to keep up the good work.

Flashback…Hyun Soo picks up the spilled tape and implants his fingerprint on the exposed tape Mrs. Baek purposely dropped.

Hee Sung tells his mother she birthed him, killed him, and brought him back to life. He says she’s godlike. Her phone rings.

Hyun Soo waits for the phone call from CEO Yeom.

Flashback…Hae Sue doesn’t like Hyun Soo pursuing CEO Yeom. Hyun Soo is sure if he can capture CEO Yeom everything will change.

Hyun Soo calls CEO Yeom’s phone. Jung Mi Sook answers. She identifies herself. She asks if Hyun Soo is her family. Hyun Soo asks her to repeat who she is. She does so. Hyun Soo asks where she is. She says she’s in a house with trees. CEO Yeom grabs the phone and turns it off. Hyun Soo calls back but to no avail.

Ji Won finds her husband in his shop. She asks where he went last night. She reports the body found was the Baek’s housekeeper. Tears fill her eyes as she reports fingerprints from the killer where found. She tells her husband the fingerprints match him. Hyun Soo can’t believe it.

Detective Choi interviews Mrs. Baek. She claims the housekeeper wasn’t feeling well so she called a cab for her.

Flashback…Dressed in the housekeeper’s clothes and hat, Mrs. Baek gets in the cab (per her son’s instructions to go to the housekeeper’s apartment).

Detective Choi shows Mrs. Baek the notes from the housekeeper’s notebook. Detective Choi asks who the culprit could be. Hee Sung watches the conversation from another room. Mrs. Baek admits she can only think of one person that the housekeeper was referencing. Detective Choi calls Officer Im and demands to know where Ji Won is. Team Lead Lee takes the phone and demands that Detective Choi come clean with everything he’s been hiding. Team Lead Lee is taken aback by the information. Team Lead Lee asks how he can believe that Ji Won’s husband is Hyun Soo. Officer Im overhears and is shocked.

Ji Won offers to take her husband in. Hyun Soo protests he didn’t kill the housekeeper. She tells him he’s a murder suspect and he’s under arrest. She says she must put handcuffs on him. She begs him to cooperate. They both can’t believe the moment. Hyun Soo offers his hands to his wife. She puts the handcuffs on him. Hyun Soo believes he sees his father.

Flashback…Do Min Seok tells his son he loved Hyun Soo’s mother and though she loved him too. But he was an illusion and she couldn’t accept who he really was. So she ran away and abandoned him. He tells his son love betrays. He warns his son not to trust others.

Ji Won looks to where Hyun Soo is staring. She asks him what’s wrong. Hyun Soo asks if she trusts him. Hyun Soo demands to know if her gut believes he killed the housekeeper. Hyun Soo declares if she doesn’t believe him no one will. Detective Choi calls Ji Won. She tells him she’s with her husband at the workshop. She says she’ll bring him in. Hyun Soo knocks the phone out of her hand. He spins his wife, puts a hand around her chest, and puts a knife to her neck. He tells her he won’t trust anyone ever again.

The police arrive at the workshop. Team Lead Lee, Officer Im, and Detective Choi search but Ji Won is gone. They find the CCTV but it is unplugged. Officer Im finds the last footage where Hyun Soo forces Ji Won to the desk to pull the cables on the CCTV.  Ji Won complies. She stares into the camera as she pulls the last plug. Hyun Soo stares into the camera too.

My Thoughts

Hee Sung becomes a mastermind. Writer Yoo Jung Hee had Hee Sung control the events that unfolded this episode. He realized Hyun Soo was setting his parents up and foiled the plan. Then he stalked Hae Sue, planted evidence, and verbally taunted Hyun Soo. Hyun Soo’s worst nightmare came true when his wife tried to arrest him for a murder he didn’t commit. He saw his father warning him that love can’t be trusted. He put a knife to his wife and took her with him.

Do Hyun Soo (Lee Joon Gi) was checked by Hee Sung. Hyun Soo doesn’t know he was playing chess with Hee Sung. Hyun Soo believes Hee Sung is still in a coma. Mr. and Mrs. Baek showed Hyun Soo and Ji Won their supposedly comatose son. Ji Won and Hyun Soo believed their eyes. I would too. That gave Hee Sung the upper hand as he suddenly became a mastermind and directed his parents to do his bidding. Frankly, Hee Sung’s switch from dependent adult to mastermind was a bit jarring and out of left field, but it created the perfect blindside for Hyun Soo and Ji Won.

Detective Cha Ji Won (Moon Chae Won) stood by her husband but had to arrest him based on the evidence. Ji Won was forced to doubt her husband based on his words, actions, and the evidence. She didn’t consider that someone was framing him. She didn’t want to arrest her husband but was duty bound to do so. She was willing to ignore her duty when she hid his identity, but this was different. Now she’s in a hostage situation with her husband.

I rank this episode as almost terrific, 8.5 on a 10-point scale.

I watched the preview several times (Hyun Su holding Ji Won hostage). It was just an act. Jiwon still trusts her husband. Maybe he did it, to make the Baeks believe that the police is after him(Hyun Su). I think the Baeks will think that it is an advantage for them because Hyun Su is no longer working for the police. But the truth is Jae Seop and his team will be his backup. Hyun Su will serve as a bait to catch Yeom Sang-Cheol, the key in solving the case. I am desperately hoping for a happy ending.😍😍😍 I will hunt writer-nim if he kills Hyun Su or Ji Won in this drama.hahahha After experiencing a lot of things that caused them sadness, frustration etc. they deserve to be happy. I commend everyone in this drama, they are all so immersed into their roles. This drama should be on netflix and this deserves a rating of 20 percent or higher. 😍😍😍😍

    • Snow Flower says:

I hope so, Artemis. I don’t think the writernim would dare to kill off any of Eun Ha’s parents. On the other hand, I am worried about the Noona and Reporter Kim. They have suffered a lot too and deserve a happy ending.

  2. Snow Flower says:

Oh my (again). The Baek family is a dysfunctional piece of work. I hope Hyun Soo does not become evil like his father.

  3. Nicola says:

Oh Boy, I am so late but finally watched 12 and 13. Chess and Checkers indeed. The housekeeper had a death wish didn’t she! How many times do we see this where a perpetrator is confronted by someone who I guess feels the need to disregard that they are dealing with a crazed killer or psychopath but continues to threaten them anyway with their false bravado. Smh. She was never going to leave that house alive. Who screamed when Hee song got up and walked? What happened to his atrophied legs? When Dr. Baek pointed to his son and asked “How do we clean up this situation?” I think we all want to know the answer. LOL. What is this good cop bad cop dance that the Baek’s play with regard to their son? Mrs. Baek stabs her son to prevent him from burying an innocent man alive then Mr. Baek keeps said son alive for 18 years (knowing by then of his son’s misdeeds or an accomplice at best) Why? Son wakes from a coma and gets slapped around by Mr Baek who cannot bear to be reminded that he has a maniacal beast as a son while Mrs. Baek protests against his mistreatment. I will eat a bit of humble pie after watching this episode because I never in a million years expected Hee song to be this depraved and malevolent. At least we now know how he met DMS and when he began to be groomed for the acts Hyun soo was not capable of doing. Don’t you just love how Mrs. Baek can go from trembling and frazzled in front of her son and husband to Ice Queen when she is dealing with Ji won and Hyun Soo. I will say though that Episode 13 felt extremely disjointed to me. Why is Hyun soo still keeping secrets from Ji won and subsequently lying to her? I thought they were past that and working as a team yet he goes off in the middle of the night to do his own reconnaissance work, and how did she sleep through the phone call? And why is Ji won doubting him again? Couldn’t she have gotten a print out of his movements which would have proven that he could not have killed the housekeeper within the timeframe he went out before questioning him? It’s not as if he ever takes the watch off. Sheesh!!! BTW, I am not yet ready to admit that I was wrong about Detective Choi 😊. Surely it cannot be this simple…we still have 3 episodes to go. When Hee song says to his mother “You gave birth to me, killed me, then brought me back to life,” he should have finished the sentence with “so I can kill again.” Hopefully the remaining episodes do not get sloppy and the earlier outstanding writing continues. I fervently hope that Jung mi sook gets reunited with her husband given how tortured he has been. I thought for sure her body was buried on the Baek’s property, but how did she end up wandering the streets, losing her memory and in a mental hospital supervised by CEO Yeom? Another thing that bothered me was when Detective Choi questioned Mrs. Baek, did he not notice that she kept glancing at something behind him? I expected him to turn around and look. Tsk tsk.

I like the characterization of good cop / bad cop. I struggle with his sudden mastermind abilities and his parent’s deference to him.

never in a million years expected Hee song to be this depraved and malevolent.
      Doesn’t seem to be redeemable.

I will say though that Episode 13 felt extremely disjointed to me.
Hyun Soo’s sudden physical and mental capabilities making him the chess master seemed forced.

I fervently hope that Jung mi sook gets reunited with her husband given how tortured he has been
I was surprised when she ended up in a mental hospital.

“I never in a million years expected Hee song to be this depraved and malevolent.” -Nicola. I suspected he was involved the murders, but episode 12 revealed his true colors, which made me wonder … in the end, who was the master in the Do Min Seok/original Hee Sung 🧮 murder mentoring❓⁉️ Did the original Hee Sung 🧮 murder Do Min Seok too❓⁉️

Nicola, you questioned what happened to Hee Sung’s 🧮atrophied legs … I remember Daddy Baek👨‍⚕️ doing physical therapy on Hee Sung 🧮 while he was comatose, which also indicates Daddy 👨‍⚕️ had hope of his diabolical son 🧮recovering. I don’t think his legs were atrophied, but weak, as he had no weight bearing exercise. But still, how can the original Hee Sung 🧮, a man who was in a coma for 10+ years be so mentally sharp AND have such physical prowess so soon after coming out of such a long coma❓⁉️

I liked you good cop/bad cop analogy of Hee Sung’s parents, it was very apt.

As Gong Mi Ja (Mama) 👩‍⚕️💊 being an “Ice Queen”, Hyun Soo🧍‍♂️🗜 told her in an earlier episode to be ruthlessly cruel and cut off any relationship with Ji Won, as he and Daddy Baek 👨‍⚕️ didn’t think Mama Mi Ja 👩‍⚕️💊 could stand up to Ji Won’s 🕵️‍♀️ scrutiny. I would generally says Mama Mi Ja 👩‍⚕️💊 is weak … except … she had the courage to stab her son to stop him. Is Mama Mi Ja 👩‍⚕️💊 bi-polar❓⁉️

“When Hee song says to his mother “You gave birth to me, killed me, then brought me back to life,” he should have finished the sentence with “so I can kill again.”” -Nicola. TRUER WORDS HAVE NOT BEEN SPOKEN!

The human trafficker is the one who stashed Mi Seok in the psych hospital, which makes me wonder if she ever even met Hee Sung 🧮. The human trafficker needs to go down big time, even if it is Daddy Baek that takes him out.

I think Detective Choi 🕵️‍♂️ did notice Mama Mi Ja’s 👩‍⚕️💊 eyes averting him; eye aversion is a dead giveaway of someone not telling the truth. Detective Choi 🕵️‍♂️ already knows Mama Mi Ja 👩‍⚕️💊 lied about Hyun Soo 🧍‍♂️🗜 being Hee Sung and perhaps chalked it up to that. NO ONE, including Ji Won 🕵️‍♀️ and Hyun Soo🧍‍♂️🗜, has ANY EXPECTATION of the original Hee Sung 🧮 being out of his coma … what a great alibi! It is unfortunate Detective Choi 🕵️‍♂️ did not turn around and see Hee Sung 🧮 eavesdropping … yep, maybe he does deserve a tsk-tsk.

Color🖍 me 🎊surprised🎉 Do Min Seok took Hyun Soo🧍‍♂️🗜 for counseling. Do Min Seok must have sensed a kindred spirit in the original Hee Sung 🧮, that he meet in the counseling center waiting room.

After seeing the housekeeper’s notes about feeling threatened by the “invalid” 🧮, she should have high tailed it out of there, do not pass “Go”, do not “collect $200” (or attempt blackmail) and gone directly to the police to report the whole murderous bunch. No matter how you look at it, threatening a murderer or his complicite family members is NOT A GOOD IDEA❗.

Why, WHy, WHY didn’t Hyun Soo🧍‍♂️🗜 tell Ji Won 🕵️‍♀️ about the late night phone call and excursion as soon as she woke up❓⁉️ Divulging that information, along with his chat with presumed dead Mi Sook, would have gone a long way to keep her trust. Old habits, die hard … Ji Won 🕵️‍♀️, a Detective, being suspicious and Hyun Soo🧍‍♂️🗜, a fugitive, being secretive and skeptical about trust … ✳ Hyun Soo🧍‍♂️🗜, don’t take advice from your deceased serial killer father ✳ For pity sake, the deceased’s time of death, phone records and testimonies of Reporter Kim Moo Jin 📰 and sister, Do Hae Soo 🎬🎨🖌, could have backed up his story about the late night call … maybe the person with the black box near the phone booth could place the time and maybe even place the killer, the original Hee Sung 🧮 at the phone booth. The original Hee Sung 🧮, bring in a coma for 10+ years may not realize how many CCTVs are out there capturing images … okay, we know he has a clue as he had Mama Mi Ja 👩‍⚕️💊 dress up as the housekeeper and take a taxi to the deceased’s neighborhood, so that the Baek house was not the last place she was seen alive. Will someone look at the footage long enough to see Mama Mi Ja 👩‍⚕️💊 returning when there was no evidence of her leaving❓⁉️ I’m determined that the original Hee Sung 🧮 MUST be caught❗ No more Hyun Soo 🧍‍♂️🗜 scapegoat 🐐.

Agreed. It was a creative first meeting for this deadly duo.

      Good point.

I’m determined that the original Hee Sung 🧮 MUST be caught❗ No more Hyun Soo 🧍‍♂️🗜 scapegoat 🐐.

Did Daddy Serial Killer take Hyun soo for counseling himself? I always thought it was something like Child Protective Services or some type of juvenile delinquent agency that was evaluating him since they treated him more like a potential budding criminal (not even trying to psychologically evaluate why he was obsessed with the voice on the tape recorder) rather than a child who needed help. Although, since Daddy Serial Killer did show up at the counseling facility, maybe y’all are right.

Yes, Do Min Seok was in the waiting room of the couseling center while Hyun Soo was getting counseling. That was when the serial killer chatted up Hee Sung, who just finished his appointment, and recruited him to be his apprentice.

I don’t doubt Hyun Soo had counseling after his dad died too.

    • beez says:

Hmmmm. Then does that mean Daddy Serial Killer actually cared for his son?

Why did Daddy Serial Killer take Hyun soo in for counseling? Did the school require it? Had Hyun soo seen something traumatic? Who saw the need (DSK?) or someone else?

It just seems weird to me that DSK would consider his child in need of mental help.

Did the show answer any of those questions? (Y’all know how I tend to fall asleep, half the time never realizing I fell asleep or that I missed anything.)

Just because Do Min Seok was a killer, doesn’t mean he didn’t care for his son. Good questions about the impetus for Hyun Soo being in counseling … that could have enhanced to the series or added complexity to the serial killer .

        • beez says:

I made an assumption (even though the show never said it) that Serial Killer Dad was a psychopath. So that’s why I was confused about whether Serial Killer Dad had feelings for his kids or not. Didn’t show imply that Hyun soo was a psychopath? I mean, we know he wasn’t but we didn’t know that right away. Or am I wrong? (You know I don’t trust my own viewing/memory which is why I come here to check.)
