Everyone sits down to enjoy food. Ah Jin declares she’ll be the chef. She grills the food. Sung Eun asks Jin Sung what he wished for. Tae Wan says he can’t tell. My Thoughts

Ah Jin realizes Jin Sung lied. Writer Park Seung Hye turned the focus back to Ah Jin and Jin Sung, leaving Tae Wan to offer quiet acceptance that his feelings for Jin Sung can never be. When Ah Jin figured out that Jin Sung wasn’t gay, she didn’t rail at him. She realized she had put pressure on him. Jin Sung correctly stated he started the lie. What will the ramifications at the station when the truth is revealed?

Chef Park Jin Sung (Jung Il Woo) didn’t make excuses. Jin Sung was lucky that Tae Wan accepted his confession without malice. Jin Sung’s father realized his accident and the subsequent hospital bills created the situation where Jin Sung was desperate for money. Jin Sung was in a daze most of the show feeling the fall out. Then Ah Jin surprised him by not berating him, rather offering understanding. Jin Sung couldn’t help himself, he admitted his feelings. She showed him hers. Then they both intensified the moment with kissing that turned from sweet to heat.

Kim Ah Jin (Kang Ji Young) realized Jin Sung isn’t gay. Ah Jin figured it out. She didn’t overhear it, Director Nam didn’t tattle it, nor did she see Sang Young’s secret footage. Ah Jin put the pieces together and realized the truth. She confronted Sang Young who advised her to finish the show and not reveal the truth. He pointed out her career would be ruined. Manager Cha offered Ah Jin a permanent position IF she secures Jin Sung for a second season. Ah Jin has a level head and kind heart. She dealt with the shock of seeing Jin Sung and Tae Wan together. She was a friend to Tae Wan when he poured out his heartbreak of being rejected. When she realized Tae Wan’s affection was Jin Sung, she handled that well. She told Jin Sung they could be friends. She told Sang Young she could handle him not returning her feelings.

Kang Tae Wan (Lee Hak Joo) faded to the background. Tae Wan was stunned by Jin Sung’s revelation but quickly recovered telling Jin Sung to keep it to himself. When Jin Sung came to his studio to offer a formal apology, Tae Wan was gracious. He’s a classy guy. Tae Wan realized that Ah Jin and Jin Sung could be a couple. He knows there are feeling between them. While I’m sorry Tae Wan loses his shot at love, he’ll live to love another day.

What’s my Wishlist for the final episode?
* Jin Sung reveals his truth instead of being outed.
Director Nam continues to sniff around Jin Sung believing there is something amiss. I’d prefer Jin Sung to be honest with the production team and the viewers rather than continue to lie and be discovered.
* Jin Sung and Ah Jin give it a go as a couple. Neutral feelings abound for this couple. I like them but I don’t love them.
* Ah Jin doesn’t lose her job. That’s a big ask. But she didn’t knowingly perpetrate fraud. She cannot wait to reveal the truth or she becomes a liar. I’m hopeful Manager Cha will understand Ah Jin was clueless and give her another chance. Manager Cha may be forced to revoke the permanent employee position for Ah Jin.
* Tae Wan is at peace. He won’t end up with a love interest, but he has found a cadre of friends that I’m betting would accept his truth should he care to share it. His father’s demand that he marries a woman would likely continue even if he told his truth. Tae Wan is the character that I care the most for. If he’s happy at the end of the series, then I’ll be fine.

I rank this episode as very good, 8 on a 10-point scale.

I could hardly believe Tae Wan 👔🧵🧷, Ah Jin 🍭🎬 and Jin Sung’s dad all let Jin Sung 👨‍🍳🔥 off the hook so easily anout his fraud. Hopefully that means Jin Sung 👨‍🍳🔥 will have some support when all hell breaks loose about his true sexual preference. I would also like Jin Sung 👨‍🍳🔥 to be the one who spills the truth, rather than be outed.

I concur that Tae Wan 👔🧵🧷 was very classy about Jin Sung’s 👨‍🍳🔥 apology. I wonder if he will come put of the closet in the ladt episode. I concur that Tae Wan 👔🧵🧷 seems to have a cadre of friends who will accept him as a gay man. I found Tae Wan 👔🧵🧷 to be an endearing character and would like him to find support. Could there be happiness with Jin Woo🚶‍♂️🔦 or would that be too weird❓⁉️

I agree with your wish list KJT, but I don’t feel strongly about Ah Jin 🍭🎬 and Jin Sung 👨‍🍳🔥 giving their relationship a go. “I like them but I don’t love them.” -KJT. YEP❣ A part of me doesn’t want Jin Sung 👨‍🍳🔥 to find love with Ah Jin 🍭🎬 … almost as a punishment

I think Jin Sung 👨‍🍳🔥 is a good person overall, but I have a hard time accepting his fraud, especially as being the brother of a gay man, he should be more sensitive to the issue.

Writer Park glossed it over way too easily for Jin Sung.

      Well said.

I have a slightly different perspective on Jin Sung being ‘let off the hook’. Jin Sung is a very kind person, evident in many ways. It makes sense to me that it comes from his family – his father and his brother acted kindly toward him, and clearly understood his well intentioned Gigantic Error of Judgement. And it makes sense to me that Jin Sung attracted other kind people to his life and brought out kindness in people he came across. Jin Woo expressed disappointment at his brother’s mistake (sure wish we had seen more of him in this series), Dad expressed disappointment. Tae Wan’s attraction is largely to JS warmth and kindness, and expressed grave disappointment. As seen in Ah Jin’s memories JS made many efforts to pull away in as kind a way as he could. All this disappointment from people he cares about IS a consequence. It was a bad decision, disrespectful to gays in general – and – no lives were lost. I imagine the final episode will show more painful consequences, some that will be long term, and I like the idea that JS could receive forgiveness, at least from those who are close enough to know his heart. • I like your thought process. JS is kind. Dare I say he’s a “pleaser” and didn’t want to disappoint anyone but ended up doing so anyhow? I expect to watch the final episode soon and we’ll know how things sort out.

Good point DS, those close to Jin Sung are more likely to let him off in his “Gigantic Error of Judgement” as they are familiar with his kind nature. I think that was why I hoped he would have the support of his friends and family to deal with the TV station and public aftermath of him coming out of the closet as straight … South Korean netizens are not known for their kindness.
