April 2020 Blogging
Looking forward to this series….
The King: Eternal Monarch. The 16 episodes of this tvN network series will air on Friday and Saturday Apr 17 through Jun 6, 2020.
Why am I watching this show? Two reasons:
1. Lead Actor – Lee Min Ho. He is one of my cadre of cuties, an actor I’ve followed and watched many series he has been in. My first kdrama was Boys Over Flowers with Lee Min Ho. I’ve watched him ever since.
2. Writer – Kim Eun Sook. In my 2020 resolutions, I decided I’d start expand my series selections based on writers not just actors. Kim Un Sook is on a roll generating stellar series. I thoroughly enjoyed her last three series Mr. Sunshine, Goblin, and Descendants of the Sun.
What’s this show about? Yi Gon, the third Korean emperor, finds himself in a parallel world where he teams with a female detective not only catch criminals but also close the door between the two parallel worlds.
Genres: Historical, Romance, Drama, Sci-Fi.
How can you watch this show? Netflix will air this series which airs on the SBS network.
The World of the Married. The 16 episodes of this JTBC network series airs Friday and Saturday from Mar 27 – May 16, 2020. This puts it direct competition with The King: Eternal Monarch which also airs on Fridays and Saturdays. I believe The King be the higher priority show.
Why am I watching this show? As noted above in my 2020 resolutions, I will select series for actresses not just actors. I enjoyed the ageless Kim Hee Ae and Yoo Ah In in Secret Affair about a married woman (Kim Hee Ae) that had an affair with a younger man (Yoo Ah In). The timing worked out, so I decided to give this one a go.
What’s this show about? Ji Sun Woo (Kim Hee Ae) is a successful doctor who is happily married to Lee Tae O (Park Hae Joon), or so she thinks. Her world changes when she finds out her husband is having an affair.
Genres: Drama.
How can you watch this show? This is on the JTBC network.
How will I blog this drama? With each episode lasting one and half hours which is too much typing for my typical blog-as-I-watch style. Therefore I’ll watch an episode, then write a mini-recap and my thoughts.
They both sound interesting … especially Eternal Monarch … between writer Kim Eun Sook and lead actor Lee Min Ho.
How do we watch JTBC network?

I am watching through a site with multiple dramas that isn’t main stream.

KJT! Please, please delete your link that you posted to DramaCool. When illegal sites are spelled out like this, it can get caught by software that searches the web and can cause your blog all types of issues like requring you to delete content to even being shut down! And I’ve seen this happen for various reasons and no amount of being innocent, in-the-right masltters because you don’t get a chance to plead your case. And even if there is somewhere to appeal to, they don’t listen. One example (although in their case it wasn’t the web site links) is: https://noonasoverforks.com/2017/09/19/what-happened-to-our-goblin-recaps/
One solution is to write out web sites in ways that people will get it but the scanners won’t (hopefully) such as instead of […].com – use […]DOTcom

Thanks I’ve done so. I hesitated to put the link there. I’ll refrain in future posts.

I am on board for Eternal Monarch, mostly because of Woo Do Hwan.

This is the second series that I didn’t realize that Woo Do Hwan was in because the leading man made it a must watch. I committed to watch My Country: The New Age for Jang Hyuk and then learned Woo Do Hwan was in it too. I tend to not inform myself about a series before the fact to limit spoilers, but overlooking an actor I follow reveals a gap.

I’m looking forward to Eternal Monarch, but I’m watching for Woo Do Hwan and Kim Go Eun rather than LMH. The story looks intriguing and I know production values will be high as it;s a KES drama.
World of Married Life- I like Kim Hee Ae, but I’m tired of the infidelity plotline which seems to be in a lot of dramas lately, so I might check it out at a later date. Love Affairs In The Afternoon was enough for me this year. The only streaming service I could find for this drama is VIU under the title A World of Married Couple, so if you don’t have VIU then you’ll need to go to one of the “other sites”.

Yep, as I noted to Snow Flower, I didn’t realize Woo Do Hwan was in the series and he’s an actor I follow. I certainly enjoyed Kim Go Eun in Goblin and am interested in the chemistry.

I’ve been police drama heavy of late, and the timing of watching worked, but agree that I’ll want more than infidelity to make this series work. The mini recap/my thoughts format is probably a good choice for this series.
