November 2019 Blogging
I’ll complete these series….
Melting Me Softly. Ji Chang Wook’s series airing on Saturday & Sunday on tvN ends its 16 episode run on Nov 17, 2019. So far this series has been good on romance and meh on the sci-fi aspect. As I’m in the mood for romance, and Ji Chang Wook delivers smoldering looks and kisses, I’ve been enjoying the romance aspect more than other sides of this series.
My Country. I am loving this series! If you aren’t watching it, binge it and join me. This historical drama has a superb ensemble cast (including two of my cadre of cuties – my number one actor Jang Hyuk and young gun Woo Do Hwan), excellent writing and superb production values. This series grabbed me from the first episode and hasn’t faltered, delivering complex and compelling episodes featuring the struggle for power and acceptance in the early Joseon period. This JTBC network series airs on Friday & Saturday and ends its 20 episodes on Nov 23, 2019.
Looking forward to this series….
Crash Landing on You. The 16 episodes of this tvN network series will air on Saturday and Sunday Nov 23, 2019 through Jan 12, 2020.
Why am I watching this show? Hyun Bin, though not one of my cadre of cuties, is an actor I’ve followed and watched many series he has been in. He did a fine job in the generally panned Hyde, Jekyll, Me. In my my review I stated “This comeback drama was uneven and only partially utilized his talents”. Here’s hoping this series will showcase this terrific actor.
What’s this show about? Love across North and South Korea appears to be the gist.
Genres: Comedy, Romance, Drama.
How will I watch this show? Netflix will air this series.
I’m with you for Binnie’s drama!
And you are so right about My Country. I was concerned that Hyukie was only there to draw older fans like me but although he doesn’t have as much screen time as the young bucks (who are more than holding this story down), his every moment is full of gravitas and not wasted.

I’m looking forward to seeing Hyun Bin on the small screen again. “Jeckel, Hyde and I” was probably my least favorite drama of his. I would recommend his most recent “Memories of the Alhambra” if you haven’t seen it already.
“My Country” is riveting❗ I concur that every screen moment with Hyukie is full of gravitas❗ The “young bucks” are holding their own. I fell for Woo Do Hwan in “Save Me” and Yang Se Jong in “Temperature of Love” and fell even harder for him in “Thirty, but Seventeen”. “My Country” has given Yang Se Jong the opportunity to show his serious acting chops.

@JT, I only watched Save Me because of your recommendation. I found it disturbing but…
it prepared me for watching Woo Do in Mad Dog. Thanks for that. 😉

“Save Me” was supposed to be disturbing … they succeeded.
Color🖍 me 🎊surprised🎉 Woo Do Hwan stole the spotlight from Taecyeon.
I agree Woo Do Hwan excelled in “Mad Dog”, but I overall was not fond of “The Great Seducer”, there were some aspects that were done well, but I grew weary of the selfish shenanigans and endless machinations.
I glad to see both of these young men in such a good vehicle that lets them and our Hyukie shine 🌟
KJT “Thirty. But Seventeen” is the better of the two for Yang Se Jong and costars Beez favorite actress, whom I have come to greatly appreciate, Shin Hye Sun.

Yang Se Jong in “Temperature of Love” and fell even harder for him in “Thirty, but Seventeen”.
This series is my first with Yang Se Jong…it won’t be my last. I’ll put the other dramas on my “to watch” list.

I highly recommend Duel. Yang Se Jong plays 3 roles in it and he is brilliant.

Duel is an intense thriller with some sci-fi elements. It is totally different from 30 but 17. YSJ is great in both dramas.

I finally appreciated Hyun Bin because of Memories of the Alhambra. I won’t jump on his new drama right away because our relationship is not that strong yet lol but I’ll watch out for your reviews 🙂

Check out Hyun Bin in the movie Rampant. I HATE zombies/monster flicks but he’s absolutely delightful. Although in today’s “me too” atmosphere, what I call delightful rake, some might call chauvinistic. I didn’t find him so at all for the time period, but he is a skirt chaser who learns to be responsible to his duty amidst a zombie outbreak.
\_(ツ)_/¯
I didn’t find the zombies all that scary at all so horror flick aficianos might consider it lightweight.
I haven’t watched the zombie drama Kingdom because of my aforesaid dislike, but I’m betting the whole reason it got made was the popularity of Binnie’s movie.

I kinda watched Rampant when a friend who likes him visited. He was good but I didn’t finish the movie. And I disliked Kingdom. Im not into zombies in particular but I like horror and I think the first episode of The walking dead was a masterpiece (then it slowly went downhill for me) But korean zombie stories so far, have not captured me.

I’m not into zombies either, but some of my friends are, so I’ve seen a few movies. I kinda liked “Kingdom”, except it seemed like it ended mid-episode, without resolving anything. I’ll have to check out Rampant.

I believe that there’s been buzz that Netflix is giving Kingdom a second season.

Those super fast zombies look a bit silly but Train to Busan was not boring at least. And I liked Ma Dong Seok and felt for Gong Yoo’s character’s ending

If Gong Yoo weren’t in it,I never would have watched.

I’ll have to check Rampant out. LOL delightful rake. Look for me to weave that into a recap. I’ve enjoyed more movies this year. Shorter time commitment.

I’m hopeful this will be a good role. I’ll put Memories of the Alhambra on my watch list. So many dramas…so little time…

Memories of the Alhambra is WORTH your precious drama watching time KJT❗
You will also get to enjoy the acting chops of Park Hoon, who you enjoyed in “Haechi” as the king of the streets. In “Memories of the Alhambra” he is an antagonist with the energy of the EverReady Bunny … he keeps going and going …

Park Hoon does make it even more appealing!

Yes, Park Hoon! He’ll forever be “Snoopy” to me. That was his character’s call sign in DOTS. He plays the strong- silent- kick-your-azz type well.

I concur! I loved MOA and Park Hoon gave me chills.
