Kill It Episode 12 (Final)

Kill It Episode 12 (Final)

Do Hyun In (Nana) follows the GPS coordinates. Detective Lee calls to inform her Soo Hyun turned the cell phone on long enough for them to get the coordinates. He states that is off now.

The task force packs up Soo Hyun’s lair. The Prosecutor looks at the photos on Soo Hyun’s camera. He walks to Hyun In. He wonders if Hyun Woo, Ji Hye and Soo Hyun planned the murders together. Hyun In counters that all the murdered men were personal grudges for Hyun Woo. She believes Hyun Woo and Ji Hye hired Soo Hyun to kill. The Prosecutor needs solid evidence. Hyun Woo believes the next target will be her adopted father, Chairman Do. Prosecutor Yoon asks if she is close to Soo Hyun. He shows her the camera. She sees a photo of herself. She receives a text with a map, undoubtedly to where the numbered children are held. Detective Lee reports Soo Hyun’s phone is on. They all race out of the lair.

Hyun In arrives at the location. She sees two cars (one from the henchman and Soo Hyun’s car) and approaches. She flashes a light in the windows. The numbered children are revealed. Soo Hyun calls her. Kim Soo Hyun (Chang Ki Yong) tells her the children are the numbered children. He asks if she can protect them. She confirms she can. She spins asking if he can see her. She wants to talk. Instead Soo Hyun tells her to take care of the numbered children and Seul Ki.

Awk! Tears! That sounds like goodbye to the woman he loves.

Hyun In says she knows her father evil deeds and she’ll make him pay. She begs him not to do what he’s planning. Soo Hyun doesn’t believe Chairman Do deserves forgiveness. Tears in her eyes, Hyun In tells Soo Hyun she’s not saying her father should be forgiven…she saying he should not execute his plan. Soo Hyun says Chairman Do won’t stop his crime. Hyun In begs him to stop, killing won’t solve anything. His revenge is murder. She promises to help him. With tears in his eyes, Soo Hyun says his mission is to stop the possibility of more numbered children. Soo Hyun claims she can do that. There’s no response. She calls his name. Soo Hyun hangs up. She looks into the distant woods believing him there. The police arrive.

The emotion, frustration, yearning, will not be swayed aspects of that conversation were superb. I see her point. Revenge killing is murder. I see his point. Chairman Do must be stopped absolutely. This evil man has done two iterations of this scheme and has the backing of the most powerful men. He could sidestep punishment and do it again. The writers have clearly signaled that Soo Hyun will die.

Soo Hyun remembers moments with the woman he loves.

The task force asks where Soo Hyun is. Hyun In tells them children are in the cars. The Prosecutor asks where Soo Hyun is. She says nothing. They start to search.

Soo Hyun watches the children taken into police custody. With one last look at Hyun In, he leaves.

Stellar opening sequence!

Phillip leaves a message for Soo Hyun that the cops have found his lair and not to come home. He recommends they escape to Russia. Soo Hyun grabs Phillip and asks if Seul Ki is okay. Phillip confirms she’s in the hospital under protective care. Phillip says he’s keeping an eye on Seul Ki because of Hyun Woo’s threats to hurt her if Soo Hyun don’t do as he says. Soo Hyun tells Phillip to get him a car and phone. Phillip hands over his phone that cannot be tracked. He promises to get a car ASAP. Soo Hyun asks about Hyun Woo. Phillip recalls Hyun Woo telling him that Soo Hyun has to kill Chairman Do, the man that created him as he puts his backpack (recall it has a hammer and knife) in his car. Phillip tells Soo Hyun that Hyun Woo had a blood thirsty look as he drove away. Soo Hyun says his dog is at an animal sanctuary. Phillip asks if it can’t end here. They have to run because the police are coming for him. Phillip apologizes for his missteps but says Soo Hyun isn’t acting like himself.

Phillip has bothered me all the way through this series. But Soo Hyun needs him and he’s willing to help. He doesn’t like the path that Soo Hyun is determined to walk…what friend would?

The next day at the task force…the numbered children are cleaned and eating. Prosecutor Yoon, Detective Lee, and Hyun In view video and voice evidence against Chairman Do. Prosecutor Yoon agrees they have enough to execute a search warrant. Detective Lee says the documenting at the holding location were shredded but the police are reconstructing them. Hyun In thinks about Soo Hyun’s vow to make sure no more children are born to die. They learn the dead henchman at the holding location was a doctor that quit due to medical mistakes (e.g. throwing patients he killed into the sea) but there was insufficient evidence. The doctor recorded all his calls including ones to Doctor Joo were he reported the harvested organ was ready for transport. Hyun In declares they have enough to arrest Doctor Joo. Prosecutor Yoon leaves to get the search warrant. Hyun In learns Soo Hyun’s phone has been off since last night.

Hyun In walks over to the children. The girl that was to be adopted asks when she can leave and meet her adoptive parents. Hyun In tells her the adoption won’t happen but she’ll go to a better place. The girl asks about the man that helped them.

Phillip has the car for Soo Hyun. Phillip tells his friend to come back alive and he’ll get them out of the country. Soo Hyun says he always liked this country. He tells Phillip to go and he’ll call him. Phillip leaves. Soo Hyun checks his gun and remembers Hyun In’s plea that revenge is murder.

The task force team split, Prosecutor Yoon, Hyun In and Detective Lee leave to arrest Chairman Do and the other leave to arrest Doctor Joo.

The lawyer tell Hyun In’s mother that her husband is suspected in Assemblyman Seo’s death and others. She knows this will affect the company’s stock price. The lawyer agrees.

I had to chuckle when the wife didn’t care about the husband, but saw the stock price as the important matter.

Chairman Ma tells Chairman Do that the task force issued a warrant based on his dashcam. Chairman Do and Tae Soo don’t understand how it was obtained. Chairman Ma states they’ll declare the video falsified but he can’t make any sudden moves. Chairman Ma says the numbered children are the big problem. Chairman Do decides to blame the dead doctor (that Soo Hyun killed when rescuing the children) for the scheme. Chairman Ma chuckles and splits not wanting their association to become known.

Chairman Do watches the video of Soo Hyun rescuing the numbered children. Tae Soo returns and says Hyun In had a car ram his car then took it to a garage for repair where the dash camera was swiped. Tae Soo the numbered children in police custody and all documents destroyed in the holding location. Chairman Do calls Doctor Joo to destroy all his documents before the task force arrives with a search warrant. Doctor Joo doesn’t want to go to jail. Chairman Do assures him their next transplant patient won’t let that happen. Doctor Joo isn’t soothed. He declares he’s heading to the airport because he won’t suffer like they did 19 years ago. He exclaims they’ll never get away with it. Chairman Do retorts if he runs, Doctor Joo is on his own.

Doctor Joo gets into his car. Ko Hyun Woo (orphanage’s chief researcher) is in the back seat. The Doctor soon has a knife at his throat and Hyun Woo telling him they have a lot of catching up to do.

We can see the final battle will be Soo Hyun versus his father and Tae Soo.

Detective Lee arrives at the hospital and learns Doctor Joo just left for a business trip.

Doctor Joo begs for his life stating everything is Chairman Do’s doing including the murders of Hyun Woo’s wife and child. Mention of those deaths enrage Hyun Woo and he stabs Doctor Joo. Writhing in pain, Doctor Joo repeats he had no prior knowledge of the murders. He declare he’ll do anything Hyun Woo wants to spare his life. Hyun Woo tells the doctor the only thing he wants is for him to die. He strangles Doctor Joo.

One down…two to go.

Detective Lee gets to the parking lot just as Hyun Woo pulls away. Detective Lee calls in the license plate number. His fellow officer finds Doctor Lee dead in his car.

Like the license plate was called in. That doesn’t seem to happen often.

Hyun In, Prosecutor Yoon and other task force members arrive to talk to Chairman Do. Hyun In’s mother asks her to explain what is happening. Hyun In says she’ll tell her later.

Team task force strides down the hall. Team Evil meets them. Chairman Do and Hyun stare into each others eyes while he proclaims he’s ready to talk. Hyun In formally arrests him but the lawyer tried to stop her from putting on handcuffs. Hyun In replies she’s going by the rules and handcuffs him. Chairman Do utters “how dare you”. Hyun In replies that the suspect needs to be taken to the station. The task force members escort Chairman Do away. He passes by his wife on the way out. Hyun In stares at her mother.

Hyun In was calm cool and collected. We know what is next…I’ve got Chairman Do speak down…”talk” = “lie”.

Waiting in the interview room, Chairman Do’s lawyer tells him to say he knows nothing. Prosecutor Yoon and Hyun In enter to begin the interview. Hyun In begins the questioning. She plays an audio file of Chairman Do yet he claims not to have ordered Tae Soo to kill and ordering Ji Hye to be murdered. He suggests the audio files are fabricated. Hyun In plays the exchange between Soo Hyun and Chairman Do. Once again he claims fabrication. Riled up, Hyun In points out 19 years ago when Hyun Woo was the whistleblower he ordered the numbered children killed. And the cycle has repeated. Chairman Do asks for water. Hyun In can’t believe his non reaction.

Soo Hyun goes to the nursery. He view Hyun Woo’s computer and framed photo of his family. He recalls Hyun Woo’s outrage when accused of killing them. Hyun Woo returns and tries to wipe Dr. Joo’s blood from his hands. Soo Hyun states the first murder blood never comes off. Soo Hyun says Chairman Do has been arrested. Hyun Woo states just like 19 years ago, he’ll be released and kill the numbered children. Hyun Woo states only Chairman Do’s death will make it never occur again. Soo Hyun asks if Hyun Woo chose him because he is Chairman Do’s son. He answers that Soo Hyun isn’t a son but a cartridge. He says he chose Soo Hyun because he is a killer. Soo Hyun counters he did that to survive. He asks if Hyun Woo ever thought about his daughter while experimenting with the children. As Soo Hyun turns to leave, Hyun Woo points out that the police don’t know the powerful sponsors of the numbered children. If the children disappear, the sponsors will get off. He reiterates only if Chairman Do dies, will the evil stop. Soo Hyun says this killing is his decision.

The task force arrives at the nursery. They call for Hyun Woo. He tells Soo Hyun that he’ll distract them while he escapes. He clarifies this isn’t for Soo Hyun but for the children. He steps out to meet the task force. They arrest him. Soo Hyun watches him be handcuffed.

Seul Ki finds a meal in her apartment and knows Soo Hyun left it for her. She rushes outside. He’s in his car watching. He calls her and tells her to go inside. Seul Ki asks why there is only one serving of soup. Soo Hyun says she’ll need to practice eating alone. He says he must go. Upset, she asks him to stay. She admits he gave her a home. She promises not to interfere with his outside activities. She begs him to return home and vows to wait for him. Soo Hyun hangs up. She sobs. Soo Hyun listens to her cry and drives away.

Another stop on the farewell tour. That was touching.

Hyun Woo thinks about Soo Hyun’s last words to him. Prosectuor Yoon and Hyun In enter to interview him. He asks if Ji Hye had a proper burial, they confirm. Hyun Woo lies that he planned the revenge solo. Hyun In doesn’t believe that. She shows a picture of Seul Ki and asks if he used that as a weapon against Soo Hyun. She asks if Soo Hyun isn’t the victim in his scheme. She returns his family picture and says that proves he was once a decent person. That hits the mark. He asks to see Chairman Do.

Prosecutor Yoon asks if the task force has found Soo Hyun. Hyun In says he’s gone underground and Phillip has too. Seul Ki calls Hyun In to say she’s home.

Hyun In sees the food when she enters Seul Ki’s apartment. She tells her to pack, there a safe place for her to stay. Seul Ki wants to say. Hyun In asks if she wants to stay in hopes the Soo Hyun will return. She asks if Soo Hyun contacted her. With tears in her eyes Seul Ki asks Hyun In to let it slide. She begs her to help Soo Hyun live. With tears in her eyes Hyun In hugs her. They both cry for that man they love and expect to lose.

That was touching.

Prosecutor Yoon is angry when the warrant for Chairman Do is refused. They are shocked.

Chairman Do walks out with the their next client Prosecutor Soo who denied the warrant. He warns Chairman Do the investigation will be tough. Chairman Do says he’ll endure it. As they turn the corner, Hyun Woo being led down the hall towards them. Hyun Woo locks loathing eyes on Chairman Do. Prosecutor Soo chides the Prosecutor Yoon for walking this hallway. Prosecutor Yoon counters this pathway is for all people even those that use children to sell organs to the rich and powerful. Prosecutor Soo yells to stop. Chairman Do says Prosecutor Yoon is young and hungry for the spotlight this case will give him. The task force team walks past. Hyun Woo grabs Chairman Do around the throat. He promises to haunt him from the grave. They drag Hyun Woo away. Chairman Do asks if Prosecutor Yoon achieved what he wanted. Prosecutor Yoon states he doesn’t have everything he wants yet. He warns Chairman Do not to leave the country.

Tae Soo states the preparations are made to kill the children where they are being held in protective services.

Tae Soo open the car door to the released from jail Chairman Do. Chairman Ma calls Chairman Do who assures him that the sponsors identities will never be revealed. He states without the children, there is no evidence.

Soo Hyun hears the news report that Chairman Do has been released. He recalls Hyun Woo’s belief that once Chairman Do was released, the children would be killed so the sponsors could never be touched by the case. Phillip calls and complains that Chairman Do’s connections and money makes him teflon. Soo Hyun orders Phillip to find out where the children are being held.

Detective Lee watches the children plays and tells the task force they are safe. They all smile. Hyun In notices a man watching the children. It’s Soo Hyun! They mobilize to catch him. When Soo Hyun slips away Hyun In orders Detective Lee to search for him.

The children are signed out of the protective services location by a nurse saying they need testing. They are loaded into a black van. She tazers the doctor that questions how she knows the children’s numbers. Soo Hyun knocks her out. Phillip arrives. Phillip gets in on the driver’s side back seat to shut the sliding door. Detective Lee arrives and tries to pull Phillip out. Phillip can’t cope but one shove from Soo Hyun sends Detective Lee on his back. They drive away just as Hyun In arrives. Detective Lee points to the fleeing van and gets in Hyun In’s car. She pursues the black van. When she round the corner the black van is pulled to the side of the road. The children are there but Soo Hyun and Phillip are gone.

Rekidnapping the children was too easy. Soo Hyun saves the day.

Hyun In remembers what Soo Hyun told her. She tells Detective Lee to take the children to the police station then have the task force meet her at Chairman Do’s house.

Soo Hyun watches Hyun In drive away. Phillip tells them they must leave the country. Soo Hyun refuses. Phillip points out Soo Hyun is in big trouble. Soo Hyun tells Phillip to take care of himself. He walks away.

Another stop on the farewell tour.

Soo Hyun drives toward his final destiny.

Tae Soo and Chairman Do prepare to leave the house. Chairman Do confirms Tae Soo has the list of sponsors. They hear a loud noise. Tae Soo pulls his gun. He tells Chairman Do to stay put while he investigates.

It’s a blood bath as Soo Hyun dispatches Chairman Do’s henchman. Unfortunately he gets shot in the shoulder. Just as the henchmen raises his gun to shoot Soo Hyun again, Phillip arrives the shoots him. Phillip sees Soo Hyun is hit. But blood splatters as Tae Soo unloads bullet after bullet into Phillip. Soo Hyun and Phillip stare into each others eyes. Phillip spins Soo Hyun into a room so Tae Soo doesn’t have a shot. He bleeds out on the floor as Soo Hyun implores him to stay with him. Phillip says they are even now. He apologizes and asks if they are still friends. He dies.

Bold move by Phillip. He died nobly.

Tae Soo approaches. He and Soo Hyun fight. Soo Hyun strangles him.

Is Tae Soo unconscious or dead?

Hyun In has the sirens blaring as she drive to her Chairman Do’s home.

Soo Hyun finds Chairman Do ready with a gun. Soo Hyun shoots him. Chairman Do begs for his life and promises Soo Hyun can be his son from now on. He promises riches, power, whatever Soo Hyun wants. Soo Hyun asks why Chairman Do cares so much for his own life when he cared nothing for the children’s lives. Chairman Do yells the children were born to be sacrificed. Soo Hyun shoots him in the leg.

Hyun In arrives and sees the bloodbath in the hallway. She sees the now dead Phillip. She hears Chairman Do.

Soo Hyun tells Chairman Do that he doesn’t make mistakes. Chairman Do begs him to spare him.

Hyun In runs into the room and points her gun at Soo Hyun. She tells him to stop for the man he is. She says Chairman Do isn’t worth killing. Soo Hyun calmly states Chairman Do will evade justice again and the children will once again be at risk. He says he must end this.

Tae Soo struggles up, grabs the gun and aims. Hyun In spins, shoot him, then returns to train her gun on Soo Hyun.

The task force and SWAT team arrive and surround Soo Hyun. Hyun In begs him to stop. She knows why he did what he did. She sorry this happened to him. She pleads with him to drop the weapon. Chairman Do pleads with Soo Hyun to spare him.

Making the last decision of his life while listening to the pleas of the woman he loves and the most horrifically evil man who used his DNA to make Soo Hyun a numbered child….Soo Hyun shoots Chairman Do in the head. He falls to the ground.

The SWAT team unload their semiautomatic weapons into Soo Hyun.

He stares at Soo Hyun as he falls to the floor.

Seul Ki feels the ripple while waiting for Soo Hyun to return. She knows he is gone.

Hyun In falls to her knees next to him. She sobs. Soo Hyun’s last act is to hold her hand.

We see flashes of their moments throughout the series.

Soo Hyun dies.

Hyun In wails her pain while the others look on.

Wrapping this series up…

Prosecutor Yoon is ready to prove this case.

Detective Lee and his colleague find the original numbered children’s bodies.

In prison, Hyun Woo stares at a picture of his wife and child.

Hyun In’s mother looks at a picture of Soo Hyun with her blood related daughter, then turns to a picture of Hyun In. She smiles.

Hyun In watches Seul Ki play with Soo Hyun’s dog at a park. She remembers Hyun Woo telling her that Seul Ki is a victim just like the numbered children and that many died to keep her alive.

Hyun In holds the paper airplane she made for Soo Hyun all those years ago at the orphanage. She sends it soaring and goes to join Seul Ki.

Bonus scene in fantasy land…

Hyun In and Soo Hyun stroll through a grassy field. They smile at each other. Soo Hyun takes her hand. Hyun In rests her head on Soo Hyun’s shoulder.

My Thoughts

Soo Hyun ended things permanently. Writers Son Hyun Soo and Choi Myung Jin wrapped up this series with the conclusion that justice could only be garnered through direct lethal force when the evil Chairman Do had so many powerful allies at his beck and call. I don’t disagree. The episode was well constructed. The task force work tirelessly to gather evidence and arrest Chairman Do. But he escaped the legal system clutches through his powerful connections. That cued Soo Hyun to take matters into his own hands. The final showdown wasn’t as awesome as hoped, but that is nitpicking. I was surprised when Phillip showed and saved Soo Hyun. I wasn’t surprised when Tae Soo rose to try and shoot Soo Hyun and that the police emptied a ton of bullets into Soo Hyun. Hyun In’s anguish and Soo Hyun’s last action to hold her hand rang true. The epilogue with Hyun In taking Soo Hyun’s place in caring for Seul Ki was spot-on. And for all of us that were denied the romance that could not be in this series there was the fantasy bonus scene of our couple holding hands and happy.

How did I do on my wish list for the final episode?
* Chairman Do is brought down. GRANTED – Soo Hyun killed the man that donated his DNA to have him created. Good riddance. Too bad Hyun Woo couldn’t hear Chairman Do beg for his life. I hope Hyun In shot Tae Soo dead.
* The numbered children are all saved. GRANTED –Soo Hyun has saved, extract them then saved them again when Chairman Do made on last attempt to kill them.
* Soo Hyun lives. NOT GRANTED – The writers telegraphed early that Soo Hyun would die. The farewell tour among Hyun In, Seul Ki and Phillip were well done. Hyun Woo had it right, son had to kill father so the evil cycle was ended. Hyun In tried to save his life but Soo Hyun had no other option that kill Chairman Do. He was that evil, that powerful, that connected, and utterly without remorse.

Kim Soo Hyun (Chang Ki Yong) achieved his dream saving the numbered children permanently. His achieved his goal…find and save the numbered children so what happened to him and others doesn’t happen again. He let the wheels of justice turn waiting to see if Chairman Do could be stopped through the system. He wasn’t surprised when that turned out to be false. There was only one choice to make to keep the children safe. Soo Hyun was one of the more caring killers. He wanted to find out his past when he returned. He was used to kill the primary participants in the orphanage organ harvesting from numbered children program. But he cared for Seul Ki, the child he saved, and Hyun In, the young girl who he helped survive the orphanage (as she helped him).

Do Hyun In (Nana) couldn’t save Soo Hyun. She and the task force did a stellar job building the case against Chairman Do but to no avail. She was an excellent officer. She wanted desperately to save Soo Hyun, but it wasn’t possible. She couldn’t change his mind of the final action to achieve his lifelong goal to save the children. Her grief over Soo Hyun measured how much she loved this man and remembered the boy that had been crucial in her young life. That she took care of Seul Ki as requested, was a fitting end. The fantasy bonus scene gave romance starved viewer a inkling of what could have been, but couldn’t be under the constraints of this story.

I rank this episode (on a scale from 1-10). Episode 12 was terrific. My rating chart is below:

Well, it didn’t take too long for Hyun Jin 👮‍♀️🐈 to rat out Soo Hyun 🔫🐺 to her police colleagues. Hyun Jin 👮‍♀️🐈 didn’t want Soo Hyun 🔫🐺 to be the culprit, but she had to be true to her sense of justice. I concur with your assessment KJT that “The emotion, frustration, yearning, will not be swayed aspects of that conversation [between Hyun Jin 👮‍♀️🐈 and Soo Hyun 🔫🐺 ] were superb.” I see both sides of their arguments.

I was SO RELIEVED that Soo Hyun 🔫🐺 saved the numbered children. I screamed when the nurse called one of the girls by her number. Thankfully, Soo Hyun 🔫🐺 and Philip 👨‍💻 came to the rescue. Too bad they had to be saved again; I hate to say it, but this instance demonstrated that Do Jae Hwan 👑📍 needs to be out of the picture PERMANENTLY for the numbered children to be safe. Do Jae Hwan’s 👑📍 death guarantees this more than his incarceration.

It was heart 💔 wrenching for Seul Ki 💳👧 to realize Soo Hyun 🔫🐺 was not coming back. I felt her sadness 💔 as she sat at the table waiting for Soo Hyun 🔫 🐺 to return home. I 💖, 💟, 💗 that Hyun Jin 👮‍♀️🐈 became like a big sister to Seul Ki 💳👧. Since Hyun Jin 👮‍♀️🐈 was already invested in Seul Ki 💳👧 before Soo Hyun 🔫🐺 asked her to take care of the lonely Seul Ki 💳👧 I don’t think she even needed to be asked to watch out for the young lady.

When Ko Hyun Woo 👨‍🔬 said that Seul Ki 💳👧 was part of Hansol Orphanage I remembered wondering in a previous recap if Seul Ki 💳👧 was the baby rescued from Hansol Orphanage by the foster mom. I wish Seul Ki’s 💳👧 backstory was clearer … how she came to be with her “grandpa”, why grandpa was Pavel’s 🔫🇷🇺 target 10 years earlier … was it related to the orphanage and why Hyun Jin’s 👮‍♀️🐈 boyfriend, Min Hyuk, came to be at “grandpa’s” house❓⁉️ It appears Min Hyuk’s case was about the conspirators of the original Children Parts Program 19 years ago. How was grandpa involved with the case Min Huk was investigating … was simply Seul Ki 💳👧❓⁉️

OMO, Philip 👨‍💻 had a major turned around in these last couple of episodes … enough that I was saddened when he was shot; at least in the end he was loyal to Soo Hyun 🔫🐺.

I did NOT want to see Soo Hyun 🔫🐺 kill anyone else. That being said, Soo Hyun 🔫🐺 felt he needed to complete his mission by executing justice on Do Jae Hwan 👑📍 to make sure “no more children were born to die”. Soo Hyun 🔫🐺 wanted to be sure Do Jae Hwan 👑📍 did NOT escape justice … yet again. I concur that Do Jae Hwan 👑📍 who “was that evil, that powerful, that connected, and utterly without remorse” needed to be GONE for the numbered children to be safe.

I could hardly believe the police, other than Hyun Jin 👮‍♀️🐈, did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to stop Soo Hyun 🔫🐺 until he shot the villain smack dab in the center of his forehead. Then it seemed the firepower was excessive, especially as Hyun Jin 👮‍♀️🐈 was in such close vicinity. Hyun Jin’s 👮‍♀️🐈 anguish was palpable as she sobbed over her slain friend. I was struck by her anguish for Soo Hyun 🔫🐺, while her slain adopted father was just feet away. I wondered what her colleagues thought about her lack of emotion for her adopted parent. Hyun Jin’s 👮‍♀️🐈 mom seemed to be the most lucid we have seen her throughout the series. Was it just me that thought when Mom looked at the picture of her bio-daughter with ♯8️⃣8️⃣ that she seemed to realize the boy was Soo Hyun 🔫🐺❓⁉️

Overall the story was good. However, I would have liked the script to have been tighter:

🔸 Assassins should not make friends with a witness or a police detective, even if she was a childhood friend.

🔸Any assassin worth his fee would NEVER leave the door open to his lair. It should take more work than walking through an open doorway to discover his lair, complete with a cache of weapons.

🔸Too many things left in the land of vagueness for too many episodes, such as how was Seul Ki’s 💳👧 grandfather was mixed up in the mess and why was he on Pavel 🔫🇷🇺 hit list❓⁉️

    • Hyun Jin 👮‍♀️🐈 didn’t want Soo Hyun 🔫🐺 to be the culprit, but she had to be true to her sense of justice.
Her morale compass was a key component of this character. I liked her.

I hate to say it, but this instance demonstrated that Do Jae Hwan 👑📍 needs to be out of the picture PERMANENTLY for the numbered children to be safe. Do Jae Hwan’s 👑📍 death guarantees this more than his incarceration.
Agreed. The writers gave the “wheels of justice” to work within the system. When that didn’t pan out, Soo Hyun HAD to take matters into his own hands.

Hyun Jin 👮‍♀️🐈 was already invested in Seul Ki 💳👧 before Soo Hyun 🔫🐺 asked her to take care of the lonely Seul Ki 💳👧 I don’t think she even needed to be asked to watch out for the young lady.
I concur. Hyun In’s relationship with Seul Ki was established. She would never have turned her back on her.

How was grandpa involved with the case Min Huk was investigating … was simply Seul Ki 💳👧❓⁉️
That branch of the story was a murky mess that was never resolved, including Hyun In’s boyfriend’s death and why that occurred at grandpa’s house.

at least in the end he was loyal to Soo Hyun 🔫🐺
Phillip came through in the end. Soo Hyun needed him and he delivered. I especially like the moment when Phillip was dying and Soo Hyun forgave him everything and only wanted his friend to live (although that was an Soo Hyun internal dialogue, you saw it).

I concur that Do Jae Hwan 👑📍 who “was that evil, that powerful, that connected, and utterly without remorse” needed to be GONE for the numbered children to be safe.
Sometimes death is the option that must be taken. While I had hoped Hyun Woo would kill Chairman Do, Soo Hyun was the only choice that could get the job done. I hesitate to call Chairman Do Soo Hyun’s father, he donated DNA to create him but he was never a father.

Was it just me that thought when Mom looked at the picture of her bio-daughter with ♯8️⃣8️⃣ that she seemed to realize the boy was Soo Hyun 🔫🐺❓⁉️
I think she figured it out.

Assassins should not make friends with a witness or a police detective, even if she was a childhood friend.
In this case, these two had the potential for a forever friendship but we all knew it could never be. We the audience were cheated in some regards by this going into position by the writers.

Any assassin worth his fee would NEVER leave the door open to his lair
I blame Phillip, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Soo Hyun was careful.

Too many things left in the land of vagueness for too many episodes, such as how was Seul Ki’s 💳👧 grandfather was mixed up in the mess and why was he on Pavel 🔫🇷🇺 hit list❓⁉️
Agreed. At the halfway point in this series all that was jettisoned to strictly focus on the numbered children and that changed everything…for the better.

You are correct KJT, grandpa and Min Hyuk’s, Hyun Jin’s 👮‍♀️🐈 boyfriend, deaths 10 years earlier were a MURKY MESS. I believe Min Hyuk witnessed grandpa’s death. Rule ♯2 leave no witnesses, even though Soo Hyun 🔫🐺 saved Seul Ki 💳👧. I believe grandpa was the target 🎯, though who knows why❓⁉️… Did it have something to do sheltering Seul Ki 💳👧❓⁉️ But why the boyfriend was there … possibly working on his investigation (we now know Seul Ki 💳👧 was part of the orphanage), who knows❓⁉️

I really had hoped Hyun Woo 👨‍🔬 would have done the deed. I just didn’t get Hyun Woo’s 👨‍🔬 desired irony of wanting Soo Hyun 🔫🐺, as Do Jae Hwan’s 👑📍 biological son, to be the one who killed, the evil chairman 👑📍, who could not care any less for Soo Hyun 🔫🐺 … or ANYONE ELSE for that matter.

Thanks 🙇‍♂️ KJT for your time to recap this series, having someone to “discuss” a drama (a it’s murkiness) with enriches my drama watching experience.
