Touch Your Heart Episode 11
Background. To get a role in a drama, actress Oh Yoon Seo (Yoo In Na) has been assigned to work for Lawyer Kwon Jung Rok (Lee Dong Wook) for three months. Initially, Yoon Seo isn’t competent to act as Jung Rok’s secretary. He’s irked by her. Determined she gains competency in phones, copying, etc. Jung Rok sees the effort and the effects. Now that Jung Rok trusts Yoon Seo, she is a value add on the cases that come through his door. Working side by side brings them closer as they learn more about each other and have each other’s backs.
This episode. Yoon Seo and Jung Rok see a car is indeed following them. The car forces them to the shoulder. The man gets out of the car. Yoon Seo’s obsessive fan stares at Yoon Seo. She can hardly meet his eyes. She tries to stop Jung Rok from exiting the car to confront the man, but Jung Rok shrugs her off. Jung Rok demands to know why the man interfered. He notices the man staring at Yoon Seo. He blocks the man’s line of sight and demands answers. The man eventually claims he mistook the woman in the car for someone he knew. He leaves. Jung Rok can’t help but notice Yoon Seo’s anxiety. He won’t let her be alone in her apartment. She agrees he can stay. She tells him the backstory of her obsessive fan and how his arrest for drug trafficking imploded her career by association.
Jung Rok wakes to find Yoon Seo cooking him breakfast. Yoon Seo is disappointed to learn she won’t get the lead role in the drama because the investor is against it. Yoon Seo and her manager decide to dine with the investor to change his mind. They are shocked when Yoon Seo’s obsessive fan is the investor. Yoon Seo warns him that tailing her, taking pictures without her permission may push her to press charges. She declares she’s happy and doesn’t care what he does to her career.
Prosecutor Kim Se Won (Lee Sang Woo) is removed from the high-profile gambler case. Later Jung Rok and Se Won realize that the obsessive fan and the alleged gambler share the same lawyer.
Lawyer Dan Moon Hee (Park Kyung Hye) asks for advice about going for her current object of her affection. Little do the office folks know she’s referring to their coworker. They advise her to dress like the guy’s perfect woman. Lawyer Dan stares at Yoon Seo and decides she’s the one to emulate. She arrives at work dressed in a short tweed suit. Lawyer Choi Yoon Hyuk (Shim Hyung Tak) is surprised when Lawyer Dan offers to take him out for dinner and drinks. He has other plans with his mother and declines. A jealous husband accuses Lawyer Choi of hitting on his wife. Everyone in the office can hear. Just as the jealous husband is about to strike Lawyer Choi, Lawyer Dan inserts herself and deflects the blow. Lawyer Choi is grateful.
Yoon Seo takes a break from work. Everyone misses her. Yoon Seo arrives in the office and tells Jung Rok she wants him to be her lawyer. She asks him to sue the obsessive fan. She provides threatening texts and photos from years ago. Jung Rok vows he’ll win in court.
Jung Rok drives Yoon Seo home. When she enters the apartment, she’s shocked to find the obsessive fan there. He declares that he loves her. He demands she return the sentiment. He grabs her. Jung Rok (who saw the obsessive fan’s driver when he drove away) grabs the obsessive fan and decks him. He declares no one touches his woman. Swoon!
Jung Rok offers solid support. Writer Yegeo doesn’t downgrade Jung Rok’s ability to protect Yoon Seo given that he lifts books not weights. Jung Rok went toe-to-toe with the obsessive fan. He didn’t back down. I was impressed. The cute factor was back in the episode. Our couple’s texting and sneaking each food during the team dinner, the amusement park and hedgehog stuffed animal was fun. Side couples…Lawyer Dan’s constant stream of men she has one-side relationships with has been a source of amusement in this series. Lawyer Choi couldn’t help but be impressed and grateful with Lawyer Dan stepped in a took the blow for him. I like the potential of these two.
Oh Yoon Seo (Yoo In Na) is stronger than she thought. Yoon Seo initially cowered but decided to tell Jung Rok everything about her obsessive fan. I was pleased to see her tell the fan’s employee to not take pictures without her permission if he didn’t want to face charges. I loved the way she told her obsessive fan she wasn’t allowing him to derail her again. I liked that Yoon Seo was open with Jung Rok about the past with the obsessive fan. Open is better than closed.
Kwon Jung Rok (Lee Dong Wook) didn’t shy from directly confronting the obsessive fan. Jung Rok didn’t blink, wasn’t intimidated, and told him to stay away. When he realized that Yoon Seo was in danger, he returned to the apartment and got physical by knocking the obsessive fan down. It was swoon worthy moment when he declared that no one messed with his woman.
I rank this episode (on a scale from 1-10) as terrific. My rating chart is below.
The fifth song of the OST is “Good Night” by Jeong Se Woon:
