Touch Your Heart Episode 10
Background. To get a role in a drama, actress Oh Yoon Seo (Yoo In Na) has been assigned to work for Lawyer Kwon Jung Rok (Lee Dong Wook) for three months. Initially, Yoon Seo isn’t competent to act as Jung Rok’s secretary. He’s irked by her. Determined she gains competency in phones, copying, etc. Jung Rok sees the effort and the effects. Now that Jung Rok trusts Yoon Seo, she is a value add on the cases that come through his door. Each case brings them closer as they learn more about each other and have each other’s backs.
This episode. Yoon Seo is taken aback when a man follows her in the parking lot. She admonishes him not to follow her. She doesn’t know he’s only trying to return the pen she dropped. We see the man is Jung Rok’s father. Yoon Seo is further rattled when the man shows up in Jung Rok’s office. She’s in the process of telling him off when Jung Rok arrives and call the man father. Horrified that she’d made a less than positive first impression, Yoon Seo shoos the men into Jung Rok’s office. Jung Rok and his father quickly descend into snipping. His father leaves without Jung Rok learning he came. Calling his mother, Jung Rok learns that his father was put on a 3-month suspension after identifying illegal activities in the office. Yoon Seo tells Jung Rok to find and support his father. She points out that his father likely came to him for legal support. Jung Rok finds his father. They bond. Jung Rok represents his father in court and wins. Jung Rok invites Yoon Seo to join he and his father in a celebratory lunch. Yoon Seo and Jung Rok’s father kind common ground when they compare notes about Jung Rok’s eccentricities.
Prosecutor Kim Se Won (Lee Sang Woo) is under pressure at work by his boss to quickly wrap up a case against a criminal that has recently returned to Korea. Se Won seeks support from Yoo Yeo Reum (Son Sung Yoon).
Lawyer Dan Moon Hee (Park Kyung Hye) tries to stop her mind from focusing on romantic thoughts about Lawyer Choi Yoon Hyuk (Shim Hyung Tak). When they both work the weekend, Lawyer Dan is drawn to Lawyer Choi when he let her borrow and shows her how to play a ukulele.
Yoon Seo invites Jung Rok to her house to watch a movie. She worries he might think she’s offering more than a viewing companion. Jung Rok worries that Yoon Seo might think he’ll try a move on her. Adorably they both admit they are nervous. Jung Rok does kiss Yoon Seo. She sighs in contentment.
Yoon Seo notices a car following them. Jung Rok tests and confirms the car is indeed following them. The car forces them to the shoulder. The man gets out of the car. Yoon Seo’s obsessive fan stares at Yoon Seo. She can hardly meet his eyes. She tries to stop Jung Rok from exiting the car to confront the man, but Jung Rok shrugs her off. Jung Rok demands to know why the man interfered. He notices the man staring at Yoon Seo. He blocks the man’s line of sight and demands answers.
The cute factor was restored. Writer Yegeo let our couple do what they best – revel in the joy of being together when they are so new in their relationship. Their interactions at work were fun. I’m enjoying the interactions of Lawyer Choi and Lawyer Dan. She’s trying to fight her feelings but it isn’t easy. Introducing Jung Rok’s father was a nice addition to the story. I was pleased that Yoon Seo won him over. I’m glad Jung Rok declared Yoon Seo was his girlfriend. Sweet!
Oh Yoon Seo (Yoo In Na) overcame a bad first impression with Jung Rok’s father. Yoon Seo is more intuitive than Jung Rok and accurately predicted his father needed him. It says a lot that Jung Rok listened and heeded. He values her opinion and takes her seriously. She’s more than a pretty face. How refreshing that must be for Yoon Seo. She’s with a man that likes her for herself, not for her status.
Kwon Jung Rok (Lee Dong Wook) declared that Yoon Seo was his girlfriend to his father. Jung Rok’s reserved relationship with his father was the perfect fodder for his episode. They both wanted to bridge the gap between them but weren’t sure how to do it. Yoon Seo gave Jung Rok good advice and he took it. He represented his father in court and won. Jung Rok speaks the simple truth and it is often more powerful than flowery speech. I enjoy it every time Jung Rok smiles and it occurs more and more. I was impressed with how Jung Rok directly confronted the man that followed them. I’d imagine the stalker has the resources to hurt Jung Rok, which I don’t want to see.
I rank this episode (on a scale from 1-10) as terrific. My rating chart is below.
