Touch Your Heart Episode 6

Touch Your Heart Episode 6

Background. To get a role in a drama, actress Oh Yoon Seo (Yoo In Na) has been assigned to work for Lawyer Kwon Jung Rok (Lee Dong Wook) for three months. Initially, Yoon Seo isn’t competent to act as Jung Rok’s secretary. He’s irked by her. Determined she gains competency in phones, copying, etc. Jung Rok sees the effort and the effects. Now that Jung Rok trusts Yoon Seo, she is a value add on the cases that come through his door. Each case brings them closer as they learn more about each other and have each other’s backs.

This episode. Prosecutor Yoo Yeo Reum (Son Sung Yoon) isn’t assuming that one good day in court (recall she revealed the $5M life insurance policy the murdered abusive husband had) means she’ll win this high profile trial. Ex-boyfriend, Prosecutor Kim Se Won (Lee Sang Woo), worries about Yeo Reum and Jung Rok going head to head in court.

Yoon Seo and Jung Rok continue to inch closer together. Jung Rok takes Yoon Seo to the murder site (she insists on accompanying him). He is attacked when examining the murder site. Yoon Seo screams and the attacker runs out of the house. Jung Rok pursues and tackles the man. Yoon Seo cries when she sees the gash on Jung Rok’s neck. He urges her to go home and rest.

At the police station, the mentally impaired man is unable to answer Jung Rok’s questions concisely. Yeo Reum arrives and questions the man (who turns out to be the son of the neighborhood butcher) gets little out of him too. She releases him and decides not to make him a witness in the trial. She’s not interested in anything unexpected derailing her case.

Yoon Seo meets Jung Rook outside the police station. She couldn’t rest at home knowing he was hurt. Yoon Seo won’t let Jung Rok go home without going to the emergency room. A diagnosis of a mild concussion and a bandage for the gash on his neck is the verdict. Jung Rok drives Yoon Seo home. He thanks her for taking care of him. She makes him promise he’ll go home and rest. She holds up her hand for a pinky swear. Jung Rok complies and can’t help but smile.

Jung Rok send the firms investigator Lee Doo Seob (Park Ji Hwan) to find more about the man. Turns out he was a friend to his client the battered wife accused of murder. He decides the man must appear as a witness for the defense. Yoon Seo goes with Doo Seob and manages to convince the man to testify.

At the trial, Jung Rok gets the forensics expert to agree someone other than his client could have killed her husband. The man arrives and Jung Rok wastes no time in calling him as a witness. He pressures the man enough that he breaks down and confesses he killed the husband to save his friend (the battered wife) from being killed by her abusive husband.

After the trial, Jung Rok isn’t interested in celebrating with his coworkers. Instead he invites Yoon Seo to drink with him. Flattered she accepts. During dinner and drinks, Jung Rok thanks Yoon Seo for taking good care of him. When they walk home, Yoon Seo’s hands are chilly. She chuckles and reminds him of the time she put her hand in his pocket after misinterpreting his directions to warm her hands. This time Jung Rok gently takes her hand and tucks it in his pocket. He admits he wants to take care of her just like she wants to take care of him. Yoon Seo is shocked by the admission.

My Thoughts

The battered wife case ends with the real culprit revealed. Writer Yegeo made the killer the sweet impaired neighborhood friend. My hats off to the actor that portrayed this character role. It was an effective performance. Yoon Seo’s gentle interaction was sensitive. Even though Jung Rok didn’t want to point the finger at the friend, there was no other choice. It wore on Jung Rok. He turned to Yoon Seo for support and solace. Could their pinky swear be any cuter?

Oh Yoon Seo (Yoo In Na) got upset when Jung Rok was injured. This was another instance of Yoon Seo telling Jung Rok that she likes him. Neither side of the couple seems able to interpret what seems obvious to the viewer. She likes him and he likes her. Writer Yegeo doing a good job building the experiences that are drawing our couple closer each episode.

Kwon Jung Rok (Lee Dong Wook) won the battered wife case but it taxed him. Yoon Seo didn’t want to put the finger on the impaired man but had no other option to get his client off. Sweetly Jung Rok didn’t want to celebrate with his coworkers, he wanted to celebrate with Yoon Seo, a woman that means more and more to Jung Rok. How much is the question.

I rank this episode (on a scale from 1-10) as very good. My rating chart is below.

Wow, the “self defense” murder case had an interesting twist. I was pleased that Jung Rok 👨‍💼💼 was felt bad about exposing the developmentally disable man, whom the defendant was protecting and was not just focused on the win. Conversely, I was disappointed Yeo Reom ☀️💼 dropped the ball on following the lead which may have weakened her case, and which ultimately blew it to pieces, in lieu of seeking the truth. “Justice prevailed” -Justice Jane

It was such a sweet 🍭 moment when Jung Rok 👨‍💼💼 put Yoon Seo’s 💃🎬 hand in his pocket and told her that he wanted to wanted to return the concern to her, that she had given him. ✳️SWOONING✳️

JT, she did it so herself. Was she seeking justice or was she seeking not to lose?

I’ll grant you the swoon moment. 😵

In my eyes 👁️👁️, Yeo Reom ☀️💼 was definitely looking for the win. Before the case was hers, it seemed she was looking at the case with justice ⚖️ in mind.

We all want to be successful, but come on folks, LET’S BE ETHICAL.
