Eun Ho points out that she omitted her college degree and applied for a position that someone fresh out of high school would fill. Dan Yi counters that no one will hire her because of her age and the 7 year break from employment. She thanks Dan Yi for loaning money to her ex-husband, who was unable to repay it. Dan Yi gets a call from a reporter waiting to interview him. He apologizes for missing the appointment. Dan Yi splits while he’s on the phone.

The reporter asks Eun Ho how he met Executive Kim. Eun Ho recalls how Executive Kim stalked him and offered him a lifetime contract. Little did Eun Ho know, he was only the second employee. We see a vignette of the company’s growth. When the reporter asks about Writer Kang, Eun Ho abruptly ends the interview. The reporter doesn’t understand why no one will talk about this.
Dan Yi texts Eun Ho to change his PIN back to the old one. She offers to be his housekeeper again. Eun Ho doesn’t respond. Dan Yi is forced to sleep at the bath house, her day job.
Executive Kim decides he’ll take the fun task of informing the selected applicants they were chosen. Eun Ho follows and sees Dan Yi was chosen for the contract position. Executive Kim urges Eun Ho to read the positive essay Dan Yi wrote. It is indeed an essay in which Dan Yi apologizes for not putting herself first, but tackling life with a smile even when the going got rough. Eun Ho agrees the essay is good and leaves.
Oh Ji Yool (Park Gyu Young) surprises Executive Kim when she’s not excited to get the job. She wants to start a day later. Executive Kim tells her to report tomorrow.
Park Hoon (Kang Ki Doong) is embarrassed when his ex-girlfriend finds out he works retail, not the job he told her about. He’s thrilled when Executive Kim calls but wishes he’d called before he’d encountered his ex-girlfriend.
Dan Yi is thrilled when Executive Kim calls with the good news. He’s gratified that someone had the desired reaction. Dan Yi cries tears of joy.
Dan Yi hides in the attic room when Eun Ho comes home. She texts the hiring news. Eun Ho replies they are strangers at work. He wants a new housekeeper. He also texts her his congratulations. Dan Yi smiles. She texts his favorite stew is on the stove. Eun Ho smiles.
The next morning sneaks out of the house without Eun Ho spotting her. Seo Joon spots her gleeful striding through the neighborhood. He wonders if that was the woman that gave him the spring onion plant.
Park Hoon and Dan Yi meet outside the building. He introduces himself as a new hire too. He wishes them both luck. Ji Yool joins them on the elevator as they head to the meeting for the new recruits. Song Hae Rin (Jung Eugene) is not happy to get on the elevator and see she’s wearing the same jacket as Ji Yool. Park Hoon mistakes her for a new hire.
As the new hires gather, Park Hoon reports that the trainer, Hae Rin, is known as a witch. Hae Rin enters the room and hears all about her workaholic demanding ways. He calls a friend that own a dress shop. He takes Dan Yi there. Turns out they all know each other. Dan Yi agrees to try on the clothes. Little does Dan Yi know that Eun Ho bankrolls the outing. After the clothes comes the hair trim. Dan Yi tells Eun Ho to drop her off claiming her landlady doesn’t allow visitors. Eun Ho watches her go. He thinks about her that evening and smiles knowing he brought her joy. He pulls out Dan Yi’s application essay. It references their shared past.

In the hospital Dan Yi made him promise to visit often. She was thrilled that she didn’t have to go to school for 1 year. Eun Ho would bring books and they’d read together, opening a whole new world.
Eun Ho hears sounds in the apartment. He investigates. Dan Yi hides and avoids detection. When Eun Ho hears more sounds, he investigates. Once again Dan Yi hides. This time he finds her. He realizes she’s been living in his house!
Cute second episode, it addressed my gripe that Eun Ho didn’t realize Dan Yi was living in his house. Eun Ho didn’t derail Dan Yi’s interview and she ended up getting the job. The other new co-workers are standard kdrama characters but let’s see what Writer Jung can do with them. Eun Ho was clear, Dan Yi is on her own at work, he won’t be helping. Because he cares and wants her success, he arranged clothing and hair refresh. Finally, Eun Ho caught Dan Yi living in his apartment. It was highly unlikely she would be quiet as a mouse and undetectable for long. I’m enjoying the cute production values of this show. Director Lee Jung Hyo transitions, flashbacks, graphics are fun and interesting.
Kang Dan Yi (Lee Na Young) was thrilled to get the contract position. I loved her joy when she got the selection call from Executive Kim. Two yogurts for all! I like how she was honest but not dripping with details over her failed marriage. The hair makeover was a slight adjustment and I had to concur when she wasn’t thrilled with every clothing choice. It was too cute that Eun Ho appeared not to watch her display each outfit but secretly watched in the mirror angled just right for his viewing.
Cha Eun Ho (Lee Jong Suk) isn’t sappy about Dan Yi. He cares for her, but isn’t spouting undying love with puppy dog eyes. He has a successful life. He supports his friend. Thank goodness, he figured out she was living in his apartment. Ignorance of that fact was bugging me. I loved their backstory and how she opened the world of books to a young Eun Ho.
I rank this episode (on a scale from 1-10) as very good. My rating chart is below.
