Revolutionary Love Episode 14 Recap

Revolutionary Love Episode 14

In her apartment, Baek Joon (Kang So Ra) recalls her desire to travel to Norway to see the aurora borealis with her father. She realizes her life has focused on working hard but not playing hard. She decides to travel to Norway but the cost is high. As she wonders how many part time jobs she’ll need to work to save for the trip she hears Hyuk yell “Burglar!”

In her apartment, Ha Yeon Hee (Kim Ye Won) hears Hyuk yell “Burglar!”.

They both reach the landing and see the police officer neighbor almost apprehend the burglar but is knocked to the ground by a blow from Je Hoon’s stolen laptop. Kwon Je Hoon (Gong Myung) tells the police officer neighbor that the burglar can’t be caught and his injuries need to be tended. Yeon Hee and Baek Joon rush forward and exclaim at the cut over the police officer neighbor’s eye. He asks Je Hoon if his laptop had important information on it. Hyuk and Je Hoon stare at each other.

Yeon Hee tends the police officer neighbor’s cut. Baek Joon asks whose apartment was robbed. Yeon Hee declares Je Hoon’s apartment and his laptop was stolen. The police officer neighbor states the was the only thing stole which was a relief.

Baek Joon wonders why Je Hoon’s laptop was stolen. Pausing outside Je Hoon’s door she overhears Je Hoon warn the Hyuk could get hurt. Byun Hyuk (Choi Si Won) doesn’t care. Baek Joon enters and asks what is going on. Hyuk concocts a story about getting hurt skiing. Je Hoon agrees with Hyuk’s story. Baek Joon asks why Je Hoon’s laptop was stolen. Je Hoon claims the laptop was old and had limited value. Trying to break their story, Baek Joon asks when they are going skiing. Je Hoon declares tomorrow. Je Hoon asks Baek Joon to join them. Hyuk and Baek Joon are surprised at the invitation. Hyuk seconds Je Hoon’s request.

In her apartment, Baek Joon wonders what the real story is. Yeon Hee knocks and asks if she can stay with Baek Joon tonight.  Yeon Hee recalls that the police officer neighbor told her she was kind and pretty. She demurs to Baek Joon that getting over Je Hoon has yielded a better prize. Baek Joon asks if Yeon Hee wants to hang out the next day. Yeon Hee asks if the police officer neighbor can join them.

Hyuk watches Je Hoon sneak out of the apartment.

The police officer neighbor asks if all the important data is gone with the stolen laptop. Je Hoon assures him he made a backup. Je Hoon asks what will happen to the second son. Hyuk overhears some of the words and realizes that Je Hoon is asking about him. Je Hoon wants guarantees that Hyuk won’t be drawn into the investigation. The police officer neighbor states his boss would not spare Hyuk. He asks if Je Hoon will still give a statement. Je Hoon states he’ll give his statement at the station tomorrow. Hyuk only hears “tomorrow” and wonders what is happening tomorrow. Je Hoon asks the police officer to allow him to spend the day with his friends before coming to the station. Je Hoon states after tomorrow, he may not be able to see his friends. Hyuk wonders why Je Hoon wouldn’t be able to see him.

Back in the apartment, Hyuk wonders what Je Hoon is planning to do tomorrow. When Je Hoon returns, Hyuk feigns sleep. Je Hoon lays in bed and thinks about tomorrow. Hyuk recalls his conversation with the Strategic Manager who stated each person must pay for their own sins.

The next day Hyuk visits the Strategic Manager. He asks for an answer about his friend.

The police officer tells his boss his informant will come in later in the day. He tells his boss he’ll watch the informant. The prosecutor arrives to chat with the police officer’s boss. He asks about the police officer but only learns that he’s new on the team.

The prosecutor calls Hyuk’s brother and shares that the informant will be making a statement today.  He tells Hyuk’s brother he doesn’t know who the informant is. Hyuk’s brother complains that the prosecutor doesn’t have all the answers. He counters that Hyuk’s brother better keep his house in order. Little does he know the police officer neighbor has overheard the conversation.

Hyuk’s brother isn’t excited to learn that Je Hoon and Hyuk have taken the day off. Section Chief complains. Mr. Kim claims Je Hoon is sick. The section chief grouses. The strategic manager recalls Hyuk asking him if he and Je Hoon want the same thing from him. Hyuk asks if the secret is about the company called BS. The strategic manager asks if Hyuk is ready for the truth and finally take on his father. Hyuk wonders if this is the end for his father.

Hyuk watches his father stride through the lobby not paying attention to the bowing employees. Hyuk muses that he once believed the employees bowed out of respect for his father but now knows money is the driver for the deferential behavior. Hyuk realizes that his father was willing to toss Baek Joon’s father under the bus to keep the life he had.

Baek Joon explains to Je Hoon that she invited Yeon Hee who invited the police officer neighbor. Je Hoon is agreeable as long as they stick to the day’s schedule. Hyuk arrives and snatches the schedule from Je Hoon. Hyuk teases Je Hoon about rock climbing. But when Baek Joon is thrilled, Hyuk changes his tune. Je Hoon smiles knowing his activity pleased Baek Joon. Yeon Hee mutters that she’s not interested. The police officer neighbor promises to help her. That puts a smile on Yeon Hee’s face.

The rocking climbing is fun for all. Baek Joon beats Je Hoon up the wall. Hyuk cheers them on. Yeon Hee loves being schooled. Hyuk isn’t a natural. A man takes photos and calls Hyuk’s brother to report on their activities. He orders the man to watch Je Hoon like a hawk.

I love watching Je Hoon smile and be happy.

Baek Joon is thrilled with Je Hoon’s second choice of an amusement park. Hyuk wonders why they are doing everything that Baek Joon likes to do.

I love Je Hoon’s secret smile at making Baek Joon happy.

Hyuk’s brother can’t believe the friends are having a carefree day.

Hyuk can’t believe that everything Je Hoon suggests is a home run with Baek Joon.

Hyuk calls Mr. Lee who reports that CEO Min is visiting his brother as they speak.

CEO Min calls his man to get better photos. But the friends are having fun in a karaoke room. Hyuk notices Je Hoon smiling at Baek Joon while she sings. He realizes that maybe Je Hoon likes Baek Joon. He asks Je Hoon why he didn’t confess his feelings to Baek Joon. Je Hoon bluntly states he wasn’t sure if he had the right to like her because he wasn’t sure he could make her happy. They both list adorable things about Baek Joon. Hyuk stares at Je Hoon. His friend is truly happy.

We’ve waited for this moment and it was terrific. Quiet, intense, and layered with personal longing but Hyuk’s respect for his friend. Is Hyuk thinking about walking away from Baek Joon so Je Hoon has a chance with her?

Hyuk’s mother is surprised when she comes to visit Baek Joon and finds Baek Joon’s mother telling a realtor to rent the apartment ASAP. Baek Joon’s mother snaps that she wants her daughter away from Hyuk. She unloads a barrage of insults and storms into Baek Joon’s apartment. Hyuk’s mother is stunned.

Hyuk’s mother complains to Hyuk’s aunt on the one hand but then states she honestly likes Joon. The aunt suggests material good bribery is an option.

Hyuk feigns an upset stomach allowing Je Hoon to drive Baek Joon. He goes with the police officer and Yeon Hee.

CEO Min shows Hyuk’s brother a picture of the police officer and relays his involvement with Hyuk and Je Hoon. CEO Min believes the police officer set an alert to notify him when Je Hoon’s apartment was robbed. Hyuk’s brother says it is time to take action.  CEO Min calls his man and tells him to keep an eye on them. Mr. Lee calls to report what he heard.

Hyuk drives slowly to give Je Hoon more time with Baek Joon. The police officer figures it out.

Je Hoon and Baek Joon arrive at the final destination first.

Hyuk reads the text from Mr. Lee and sees they are being followed. The police officer sees this too. Hyuk takes evasive maneuvers. They force the man to stop. The man admits Hyuk’s brother sent him. Hyuk takes off in the man’s car to confront his brother. When Baek Joon calls Hyuk he pretends all his well and claims he has to return to Seoul. He urges Je Hoon and Baek Joon to enjoy the stars together. He hangs up. Hyuk thinks that he loves both Baek Joon and Je Hoon. He cries as he drives away from them.

Baek Joon loves looks at the stars. Je Hoon is pleased to see her happy. Je Hoon asks her if she has regrets. Baek Joon admits her pride has caused her to make mistakes. She asks Je Hoon the same question. Je Hoon admits he regrets that he didn’t answer her honestly when she confessed liking him all those years ago. He hugs Baek Joon. She’s stunned. Je Hoon holds her away from him then walks away. Tears fill Baek Joon’s eyes as she tries to understand what just happened. When the police officer and Yeon Hee arrive, they are surprised that Baek Joon is there alone. Yeon Hee sees that Baek Joon is upset. Je Hoon texts the police officer that he’s heading to the police station. He tells him to see Baek Joon home.

But when Je Hoon drive to the police station, he’s boxed in by four cars and forced to stop. Big burly men get out and stare at him.

The police officer calls Hyuk about Je Hoon. Baek Joon finds the flash drive in her pocket. She realizes Je Hoon planted it for safe keeping.

Hyuk arrives at Gangsu and asks why his brother had them followed. He demands to know what happened to Je Hoon. Hyuk’s brother calls him an idiot for trusting Je Hoon who is willing to betray their family. Hyuk’s brother piles on the pain when he claims Hyuk was to self-absorbed to see how Je Hoon’s role of cleaning up his messes hurt Je Hoon. Hyuk yells for his brother to say where Je Hoon is. Hyuk’s brother won’t divulge anything and warns Hyuk that he won’t tolerate anymore. He sluffs off Hyuk’s attempt to stop him.

CEO Min looks at the battered Je Hoon and demands to know where the flash drive is. Je Hoon denies knowledge. CEO Min knows that Je Hoon had backup. Why else would he go to the police without evidence? Je Hoon suggests the knowledge is in his head. CEO Min can’t believe Je Hoon won’t cave.

The police officer is worried at the missing Je Hoon. His boss is livid that the informant bailed. The police officer believes that his informant was captured. The police officer shares her heard the prosecutor from this morning’s meeting make an odd phone call.

Hyuk’s brother meets with the prosecutor.

Hyuk arrives at the apartment and finds Baek Joon worried about Je Hoon. She gives him the flash drive that Je Hoon put in her coat pocket.

Je Hoon finds himself at being interviewed by the prosecutor that works for Hyuk’s brother. Je Hoon says that he’s not shaking Gangsu, he’s shaking something (or someone) else.

Hyuk spins the flash drive and considers what to do.

May I suggest you make a copy of the files?

Hyuk finds the police confiscating Je Hoon’s files claims he’s embezzled from Gangsu. Hyuk learns that Je Hoon is at the police station being interrogated. He stares at Je Hoon’s stripped desk. Hyuk sees the pattern of abuse his family has wrought. First Baek Joon’s father, now Je Hoon.

Hyuk’s father tells his brother he’s done well by neutralizing Je Hoon. He tells his son to ensure that Je Hoon never rears his head again. Hyuk’s father calls Je Hoon and his father ungrateful. He says they never should have helped him.

Je Hoon’s father is stunned by the news of the charges against Je Hoon.

Baek Joon is stunned by the news of the charges against Je Hoon. She asks Mr. Kim what Hyuk is doing. She learns his with the Strategic Manager. Baek Joon grabs her coat and heads out.

The Strategic Manager tells Hyuk that the options are few against the charge of embezzlement. He offers documentation on the shell company BS. He tells Hyuk he can take the documentation to the prosecutor and finish what Je Hoon began OR give it to his father and make a deal to release Je Hoon. Hyuk recalls Je Hoon telling him that he must finish what he starts. Hyuk stares at the documentation. Baek Joon arrives at Gangsu and heads up the elevator.

Hyuk strides down the hallway with the documentation. He recalls the Strategic Manager stating his hands aren’t clean with what he’s done for Gangsu.

Baek Joon exits the elevator.

Hyuk recalls his choices – take the documentation to the prosecutor as Je Hoon would want or take the documentation to his father and make a deal to release Je Hoon.

Baek Joon rushes to Hyuk. She tells him Je Hoon was arrested. Hyuk knows. She asks what he will do. Hyuk states he’ll choose a path where no one gets hurt. Baek Joon doesn’t understand. Hyuk asks if she trusts him. Baek Joon doesn’t hesitate and tells Hyuk she trusts him. Hyuk promises not to disappoint her. Hyuk tells Baek Joon to wait and see what he does. He walks away. Baek Joon watches his purposeful stride.

The prosecutor stares at the battered Je Hoon.

My Thoughts

Hyuk has Je Hoon’s and his family’s future in his hands. Hyuk faces the big decision, save Je Hoon or sink his family. Hyuk claims he’ll make a choice that won’t hurt anyone. I don’t see how that is possible. On a side note, I’ve been enjoying the sweet moments between Yeon Hee and the police officer. He has an appeal.

Production and Writing. Writer Joo Hyun gave Hyuk choices – Step aside and give Je Hoon a chance with Baek Joon, and Save Je Hoon or Sink his family. Hyuk’s kind nature chose to step aside and allow Je Hoon the moment to confess to Baek Joon. How can Hyuk’s kind nature satisfy his desire not to hurt Je Hoon or his family?

Byun Hyuk (Choi Si Won) wants to avoid hurting Je Hoon and his family. I liked the calm way Hyuk considered his options. He still isn’t a total free thinker but would that be wise in this situation? He needed the Strategic Manager’s documentation and understanding of his options. The real question is how will Hyuk navigate this mine field of allegations against Je Hoon and his family? I was not surprised when Hyuk stepped aside and gave Je Hoon to opportunity to tells Baek Joon that way he felt. Hyuk’s kindness (now that he’s aware of others) and desire to obtain a win-win solution are his trademarks. Hyuk is willing to hurt himself. Will he do that again to finish what Je Hoon started?

Kwon Je Hoon (Gong Myung) took advantage of the moment Hyuk gave him and confessed to Baek Joon. Je Hoon admitted that he regretted his flippant remark years ago when Baek Joon candidly confessed she liked him. Baek Joon was stunned. When Je Hoon hugged her, she stood stiffly and Je Hoon took the opportunity to slip the flash drive in her coat pocket. Je Hoon is too late with Baek Joon. He had three years. He blew it. Don’t get me wrong, I like Je Hoon. I like that he’s starting to live again. I like that he nailed every moment of the group date to Baek Joon’s wishes. I liked seeing him smile watching Baek Joon enjoy herself. I like that he’s throwing off the shackles of servitude to Gangsu. I like that he trusted both Hyuk (to continue what he started) and Beak Joon (with the flash drive) implicitly. BUT his opportunity with Baek Joon is gone. That ship has sailed. Je Hoon seemed unflappable when he was surrounded and taken to Hyuk’s brother’s lackey, CEO Min, who battered and bruised him. Je Hoon remained silent about the evidence he was going to take to the police. This was the standout episode for Je Hoon. He deserved it and shined.

Baek Joon (Kang So Ra) decided traveling to Norway was her knew dream. Who better to travel with than Hyuk? But that dream was pushed aside with all the happenings of the episode. While Baek Joon may have suspected that Je Hoon might like her, she seemed blind sided by his confession. I don’t think that Baek Joon feels more than friendship for Je Hoon. He put himself in the friend zone and Hyuk is in the romance zone. I enjoyed how “out of it” Baek Joon was this episode. Her brain power has driven many of the moves in this series. But Je Hoon and Hyuk made all the moves in this episode. Her men have matured.

Ranking the episodes (on a scale from 1-10) had me rank this episode as terrific. My episode ranking chart is below.

The fifth song of the OST “My Own Way” is by Yeontae of IN2IT and was released November 27, 2017:

“Hyuk’s mother complains to Hyuk’s aunt on the one hand but then states she honestly likes Joon. The aunt suggests material good bribery is an option.”
Oh no! That’ll Boomerang. Offer this woman money? When for the cause of greed and money her husband’s career and reputation were destroyed! Poor Hyuk’s mom is in for more undeserved abuse heaped upon her. (Where was someone like Joon’s mom in all those other dramas I watched with horrible entitled rich ahjummas? lol)

“Hyuk sees the pattern of abuse his family has wrought. First Baek Joon’s father, now Je Hoon.”
And many, many more in between the two, I’m sure.

Oooo ooo oo! I bet Jehoon’s papa knows where all the bodies are buried! And y’all messing with his son? It is on. *wiggling in my seat *
I can just see his thoughts “I gladly took everything y’all through at my lowly self, even went to prison for you and still felt grateful. But y’all finna mess with my beautiful bright innocent-of-any-wrong-doing son! Heck to the naw!”

What a choice: Save Je hoon but then Hyuk’s father’s company continues with business as usual – hurting many more people.

I think this is the one time I’d be dishonorable: Make a deal with his dad but after JeHoon is cleared, turn over copies to the prosecutor anyway. The thought of Je hoon wasting years in jail is too hard to consider.

I thought how cool it is that Jehoon knows Joon’s likes/dislikes but then I thought Joon’s mom’s been hanging around a lot. She probably volunteered the inside scoop to help advance JeHoon. lol

“Who better to travel with than Hyuk?”
Je hoon in my opinion. lol Besides my obvious reasons for preferring to travel with Jehoon, Hyuk probably couldn’t get past customs without some misunderstanding getting you and him strip searched and in a foreign jail cell. lol

Kjt, you rated this episode as “terrific” yet the chart showed it below last week’s episode so I had to go back and check what your rating was last week (“excellent”). I agree these last two were really good but I personally would exchange those ratings. I think I liked this one best because JeHoon gets his moment to smile. 😍

    • But y’all finna mess with my beautiful bright innocent-of-any-wrong-doing son!
      That’s a uprising I’d like to see.

I think I liked this one best because JeHoon gets his moment to smile. 😍
It was wonderful to see Je Hoon smile. He’s been dour most of this series. I loved inserting smiling happy screen shots of Je Hoon into the recap.

I think this is the one time I’d be dishonorable: Make a deal with his dad but after JeHoon is cleared, turn over copies to the prosecutor anyway. The thought of Je hoon wasting years in jail is too hard to consider.
I don’t see how Hyuk can keep from hurting either his family or Je Hoon. I’m interested to see what wriggle room Writer Joo gives Hyuk.

      • Beez says:

“I don’t see how Hyuk can keep from hurting either his family or Je Hoon”

Yeah. You’re most likely right there. *sigh*

  2. Jane Tilly says:

While I can understand Joon’s mom irritation 😡 and disgust 😠 for Gangsu and Hyuk’s dad, she CANNOT separate Hyuk and his mom from the company in her concern for her daughter. Neither Hyuk NOR his mother were involved injuring in or sanction what was done to Joon’s dad or for that matter, Je Hoon. Joon’s mom was artlessly over the top UNGRACIOUS in telling Hyuk’s mom that she sounded like a snorting 🐷 pig. Sorry sister-in-law (Hyuk’s aunt), money 💰 is not going to solve the problem with Joon’s mom, but as Beez put it will only “Boomerang” or exacerobate the situation. I wonder❔ if a sincere apology from the Byun family would make ANY difference. I concur with Beez when she said ““Hyuk sees the pattern of abuse his family has wrought. First Baek Joon’s father, now Je Hoon.” And many, many more in between the two, I’m sure.”

T2 🤖👮, I swear I’m hear the cop being called T-cheon, cheon being Korean for 1000, which was apparently the model # (T-1000) of the unstoppable Terminator in the second Terminator movie. OMO, Yeon Hee and T-1000 🤖👮 rock climbing. T-1000 🤖👮 was very attentive and hands-on in guiding Yeon Hee. I’d like to learn climbing with someone teaching me like that. I concur with KJT about T-1000 🤖👮 being appealing as we saw the sweet 🍭 moments between him and Yeon Hee. It seems T-1000 🤖👮 was not out to “get” Hyuk, but doesn’t think Hyuk can be protected, which is much better scenario than my initial suspicion of T-1000 🤖👮.

I 💗 that Je Hoon selected activities for the day that he KNEW Joon would enjoy. I concur with KJT “I love Je Hoon’s secret smile at making Baek Joon happy.”

I kept thinking Hyuk, get a clue 🕵 that Joon is Je Hoon’s secret 🤐 crush 💕, so secret that Joon doesn’t even know … okay, she has a suspicion … and then Hyuk got a clue 🕵 … and pushed Joon at Je Hoon. I wondered the same thing as KJT “Is Hyuk thinking about walking away from Baek Joon so Je Hoon has a chance with her?” It is clear to me that Hyuk REALLY cares 💖 for both Joon and Je Hoon, which is only one of the diameterically opposed conflicts Hyuk is dealing with.

It was awesome that “JeHoon gets his moment (s) to smile. 😍” this episode. I’m glad Je Hoon got a chance to confess 😶💕 to Joon. I think Je Hoon realized he missed the boat 🚢👋 (by 3⃣ years) for having a relationship with Joon. I found it interesting Je Hoon used the confession as closure, but a least he FINALLY had the courage to express 💕 himself.

Color 🖍 me 🎊surprised🎉 Je Hoon was already in collaboration with prosecution.

I 💗-d the composure my sweet 🍭 Je Hoon had as he stood unshaken before CEO Min’s minions‼ Oh my sweet 🍭 Je Hoon got his face pummeled‼. One moment it looked like Je Hoon was in a seedy warehouse and then all of the sudden he was in the prosecutor’s interrogation room for embezzlement. Those 💰greedy💰 chaebols have a way of turning the nasty way about tables against justice ⚖. You know me … I keep hoping 🙏⚖ justice prevails

I was surprised Je Hoon planted the evidence USB on Joon, but still least the USB is safe … so far. When Hyuk was wondering what to do with the USB, I had the same thought 💭 as KJT “May I suggest you make a copy of the files?” The big question of the episode is will Hyuk finish what Je Hoon started⁉ I hope 🙏 Hyuk will finish it. I hope 🙏 Je Hoon’s dad does have some dirt on the Byun family he would be willing to trade or expose to help his son … Does he know where the bodies ⚰ are buried⁉

I concur with the general sentiment of the comments that I’m not sure there is a path Hyuk can take where nobody gets hurt 🚫🤕. How can he possibly save Je Hoon without affecting his family or their company⁉. How can he make Gangsu an ethical company without affecting his dad or MFBEH 🏍⁉. How will Joon react to his decision ⁉ Will ANYTHING Hyuk does even have an impact on Joon’s mom EVER being able to accept Hyuk as the man Joon loves 💗⁉

    • T-1000 🤖👮 was very attentive and hands-on in guiding Yeon Hee. I’d like to learn climbing with someone teaching me like that.
Yes, hands-on training is the best!

I found it interesting Je Hoon used the confession as closure, but a least he FINALLY had the courage to express 💕 himself
Was it really closure or JH admitting his feelings with the hope that she’d respond?

It is clear to me that Hyuk REALLY cares 💖 for both Joon and Je Hoon, which is only one of the diametrically opposed conflicts Hyuk is dealing with.
Well stated…love the use of diametrically!

Joon’s mom was artlessly over the top UNGRACIOUS in telling Hyuk’s mom that she sounded like a snorting 🐷 pig
True she was rude. She can’t separate Hyuk or his mother from what happened to her husband. She sees the Gangsu family as a package deal.

      • Beez says:

About Je Hoon’s confession, I read a while back, a Korean guy blogger staying how a Korean guy can like a girl and will wait until she and her family are moving away to make his confession. The assumption being that he won’t ever see her again so the embarrassment is less.

Now I found this very odd, and I believe he was talking in the context of being school age.

But having come across that, it made JeHoon’s confession at this time make more sense to me. Especially because as I had guessed that his motivation for rejecting Joon previously was his seeing his own life as ultimately going somewhere that he didn’t want to drag Joon down with him when it finally happened.

        • a Korean guy can like a girl and will wait until she and her family are moving away to make his confession…it made JeHoon’s confession at this time make more sense to me. Especially because as I had guessed that his motivation for rejecting Joon previously was his seeing his own life as ultimately going somewhere that he didn’t want to drag Joon down with him when it finally happened
          That makes sense. Good explanation.

    • Jane Tilly says:

When I watched Je Hoon’s confession 💕 scene, what I sensed was that he knew the Joon relationship had sailed 🚢👋 and used the opportunity to reveal his feelings, but possibly Je Hoon had a glimmer ✨ of hope she might consider him.

There is truth in reasoning that Hyuk is a package 📦 deal that includes his family. I can understand Joon’s mom’s anger 😠 over Gangsu screwing 🔩 over Joon’s dad. I’m just disappointed 😞 that as one mom to another Joon’s mom has had such churlish behavior towards Hyuk’s mom, who had nothing to do with Joon’s dad’s demise, other than being married to bad guy CEO Byun Gangsu … he’s the one 🔘 who deserves it.

      • Beez says:

But we have to remember that Korean culture family is everything. You’re not separate from your family (as we see in Mad Dog, the injustice Min Joon had to carry). And when two people marry, it’s not those two people, it’s a marriage of families.

When I first began watching Kdramas, I was outraged that in-laws could have so much to say in trying to block marriages. But now that I have a daughter-in-law…

But especially in Korean culture where the DIL becomes the MIL’s personal servant…

I’m not saying that’s right AT ALL, but I do understand it better now. The two aren’t the only ones getting married.

If the block is for stupid reasons – such as classism – I’m still just as outraged.

But I totally get Joon’s mom. We’re only upset because Hyuk’s mom is so cool and likeable (although that doll squeak voice…smh…lol)

It’s asking a lot of Joon’s mom as I can only imagine what she went through with Joon’s dad and Gansu.

  3. Beez says:

Just thinking about it, Joon’s mom would be far less enthused about JeHoon as a possible son-in-law if she knew he was Gansu’s No. 1 henchman.
