Video: Save Me

Today’s video captures the series Save Me in one perfectly creepy song.

With a 47 song OST spread across 2 Volumes, choosing a song was easier than you might think. There are only five vocal songs. “Sand Wind” sung by Jung Cha Shik isn’t my favorite song of the OST, but it captures the clutches the cult had on the series characters in an undulating vocal onslaught. This song was written by Jung Cha Sik and arranged by Jung Cha Sik and Chris Varga.

The Save Me video features this “escape from a cult” series from start to finish. It begins with Im Sang Mi (Seo Ye Ji) targeted by lustful cult leader Father Baek Jung Ki (Cho Seong Ha). New to town Sang Mi catches the eyes of Han Sang Hwan (Ok Taecyeon) and Seok Dong Cheol (Woo Do Hwan). When Sang Mi’s brother is bullied Dong Cheol tries to intervene while Sang Hwan won’t involve himself per his father’s request (a candidate for governor) to avoid bad press. Sang Mi’s brother dies and the family falls apart. Father Baek swoops in and takes the grieving family under the protective wing of the cult. But things aren’t as they appear to be. Sang Mi finds herself trapped. Sang Hwang finds himself wracked with guilt that he didn’t protect Sang Mi. Dong Cheol finds himself in jail after injuring one of Sang Mi’s brother’s tormentors. Three years later Sang Hwan and Dong Cheol join forces to save Sang Mi. But the cult’s power is strong. Follow their journey as we cycle through 16 episodes.

As you know, kjt, I didn’t watch this show. But I thought I’d watch your video to get a taste of what it was like. After watching – “Gulp!”

That is one amazing piece of music, vocally, instrumental, technologically…I’m blown away and I…never…want…to…hear…it…again…ever.

That music needs a warning sticker- “Use caution if you’ve ever considered suicide” or “May cause suicidal thoughts”.

It is hauntingly, strangely amazing but…oh…my…God. I want to shake it out of my head.
