My Thoughts — Strongest Deliveryman— Episode 4
Choi Kang Soo (Go Kyung Pyo) and his delivery buddies organize a search to find the illegal racers that caused the ambulance with his comatose friend to take a longer route delaying medical care. They hit a lucky break when blackbox footage identifies the cars that raced that evening. Kang Soo can’t believe that his new friend Jin Gyu is one of the racers. Kang Soo doesn’t wait long to confront Jin Gyu after work. Oh Jin Gyu (Kim Sun Ho) is surprised that his actions caused another harm and wants to make up for it monetarily. Kang Soo states throwing money at the problem won’t resolve the criminal aspect of Jin Gyu’s actions. He drags Jin Gyu to the police station and shows the blackbox footage. The police officer states that the only charge that can be brought against Jin Gyu is obstructing a public road. Kang Soo demands that Jin Gyu be held accountable for his friends medical condition. The police cannot oblige Kang Soo. The police ask Jin Gyu about his actions. Having recently been beaten by his father for the illegal racing and the negative publicity it could garner, Jin Gyu can’t admit to it. Kang Soo is shocked by what he perceives to be Jin Gyu’s betrayal, weak character, and irresponsibility. The two men’s friendship implodes. Kang Soo vows to bring Jin Gyu justice. He decides to call his cavalry of friends to help.
Lee Dan Ah (Chae Soo Bin) recovers in the hospital VIP room paid for Jin Gyu. When she ducks out to clean the English speaking school, Kang Soo spots her and follows. He gallantly offers to help clean and carry the just delivered bundles of text books. Dan Ah is grateful for his help. She tells him she will have a big announcement soon. She’s practically giddy that she has enough money to leave Korea with Jin Gyu’s cash reward for saving his life. Later she sees Kang Soo leaving the hospital but his focus is on justice for his comatose friend so he doesn’t hear Dan Ah call his name.
Lee Ji Yoon (Go Won Hee) find the small room she’s rented is smaller than what will comfortably accommodate her belongings. She tells herself the room is cozy. When she hears her neighbors talking, yelling, playing music, etc. Ji Yoon tells herself this is a community and puts her earbuds in. But she can’t take the bug that walks down her wall and runs out screaming. She goes to Kang Soo’s room to sleep much to his chagrin when he returns from work. He kindly offers her an umbrella so she doesn’t get wet on her return to her room. She and Jin Gyu bicker at each other. She believes he’ll admit to not liking her on a voice recording but he reverses his position. Their encounter distracts Ji Yoon at work and she spills coffee on a customer. Her boss sees it.
Jin Gyu’s car racing was revealed. Writer Lee Jung Woo is smart to reveal this in episode 4 and not drag it out. This gives ample time for Jin Gyu redeem himself in Kang Soo’s eyes. This lessened the fun factor of the episode, but was necessary.
Choi Kang Soo (Go Kyung Pyo) couldn’t believe it when Jin Gyu denied culpability to the police. Kang Soo blindly believed his friend would admit the illegal car racing to the police but he didn’t. Kang Soo has vowed to bring Jin Gyu to justice. Is this possible?
Lee Dan Ah (Chae Soo Bin) recovered in the hospital. Jin Gyu paid her the reward for saving his life. Dan Ah’s conscience is troubled by taking the money. But it is sufficient money to allow her to leave Korea and begin anew. She told Kang Soo soon she would reveal big news. Can anything induce Dan Ah to stay?
Lee Ji Yoon (Go Won Hee) realized living tiny had a downside. She imagined bliss in her new tiny room. She got noise and bugs and got out of there. She and Jin Gyu continued their snipping. We all know that is only a precursor to romance. How long until the romance begins?
Oh Jin Gyu (Kim Sun Ho) couldn’t publicly confess to his street racing. His father would go ballistic. Jin Gyu wanted to help privately but Kang Soo did not see that as an option. When Kang Soo forced Jin Gyu to come to the police station, it was either confess or deny. Jin Gyu couldn’t allow his pastime to become public knowledge as it could negatively affect his father’ business and there would be hell to pay. Now his friendship with Kang Soo is on the rocks. Can anything repair it?
