Suspicious Partner Episode 35 Recap

Suspicious Partner Episode 35 “Comeback” (Part 1) Recap

No Ji Wook (Ji Chang Wook) rushes into the hospital to find Hyun Soo. He knows Hyun Soo is faking his amnesia. As he rides up the escalator his sixth sense tells him that Hyun Soo is near.  Ji Wook sees him going down the escalator. They lock eyes. Hyun Soo runs and escapes Ji Wook’s pursuit.

Ji Wook learns that Yoo Jung was fought with Hyun Soo. Ji Wook calls Lawyer Ji Eun Hyuk (Choi Tae Joon) and informs him that Yoo Jung is in the hospital. He turns grim causing Eun Bong Hee (Nam Ji Hyun) to ask what happened to Yoo Jung. They speed to the hospital.

When Lawyer Ji and Ji Wook arrive at the emergency room they find Ji Wook beside the sleeping Cha Yoo Jung (Nara). Lawyer Ji loses it, concern and caring evident. Yoo Jung wakes and tells Lawyer Ji to lower his voice, he is embarrassing her. Ji Wook and Bong Hee leave to give them privacy. Lawyer Ji claims he was acting. Yoo Jung practically rolls her eyes.

Bong Hee correctly assumes Hyun Soo’s memory is back. Ji Wook asks her to move back into his house while Hyun Soo is on the loose. Bong Hee refuses.

Na Ji Hae (Kim Ye Won) spies Lawyer Ji helping Yoo Jung into the apartment building. When they reach Yoo Jung’s door, Lawyer Ji tries to leave but Yoo Jung ignores him and he follows her into the apartment. When Lawyer Ji tries to leave, Yoo Jung asks him to stay. He watches her sleep. Then he leaves.

Ji Wook wonder who Hyun Soo remembers. He recounts that Hyun Soo interacted with him, Yoo Jung and Bong Hee.

Hyun Soo wonder who the woman (Bong Hee) was.

Ji Wook wonders how much of his memory Hyun Soo has.

Hyun Soo stares at the picture of Park So Young. He wonders why he killed. What drove him to kill?

Ji Wook wonders if Hyun Soo remember what drove him to kill.

Yoo Jung’s boss chews out Yoo Jung for losing Hyun Soo. He even barks at Ji Hae needing to vent to anyone nearby.

At the morning meeting, Ji Wook, Bong Hee, Lawyer Ji, Assistant Jang (Jang Hyuk Jin) and Lawyer Byeon Young Hee (Lee Deok Hwa) discuss Hyun Soo. Ji Wook orders everyone to be careful now that Hyun Soo is on the loose.

Hyun Soo visits the spot at the high school where he thinks about Park So Young. He has a memory of her running away. Fear is evident on her face.

Ji Wook and Bong Hee look for Hyun Soo at the high school but don’t find him. He spies them walking away. He stares at Bong Hee. He has more flashes of her but can’t recall who she is.

Bong Hee works late and is alone in the office. She realizes that she’s not alone and turns to see Hyun Soo. He asks who she is. He asks who he is. Bong Hee and Hyun Soo fight. Ji Wook returns and intervenes. Hyun Soo pulls a knife. Hyun Soo and Ji Wook fight. Ji Wook wrestles Ji Wook to the ground. Bong Hee rushes over and sees that Ji Wook has been stabbed in the side. The blood stains Ji Wook’s white shirt.

In the ambulance Bong Hee cries and pleads with him to hang on. Ji Wook dreams of his father. Ji Wook dreams of the fire. Ji Wook dreams of Bong Hee’s father rushing in and saving Ji Wook from the fire at his father’s request.  He recalls Ji Wook’s father returning to the burning house.

And there is it. Bong Hee’s father saved Ji Wook from the flames. Bong Hee’s father returned to the flaming house to save his father.

Bong Hee, Lawyer Ji, Assistant Jang, and Lawyer Byeon stand by Ji Wook’s bed where he sleeps. He wakes. He wonders who they are then he laughs. Assistant Jang and Lawyer Ji lead Lawyer Byeon out of the room to give Bong Hee and Ji Wook privacy.

Ji Wook apologizes. Bong Hee chides him for fighting and getting hurt. She’s upset that bad things happen with her in his life.

In the interrogation room Hyun Soo remembers Ji Wook’s injury. Yoo Jung interrogates him but he doesn’t speak. She shows him the pictures of those he killed. He still says nothing. She shows the planted knife. He still says nothing. Yoo Jung says she can wait until he speaks.

Hyun Soo sits in his cell.

Ji Wook wakes to find Bong Hee asleep at the end of the bed. He smiles and brushes the hair from her face. She wakes and is startled to find him staring at her. She asks to see his wound. He refuses. She jokes it’s probably sexy. He smiles. He tells her he has something important to tell him.

Lawyer Byeon interrupts their conversation with a visit from Kim Jae Hong (Harry Potter look alike child that had repressed memories like Ji Wook did). Jae Hong wants to see Ji Wook’s wound. He refuses. Jae Hong tells Bong Hee she looks bad. She orders him to go home. Lawyer Byeon and Assistant Jang chuckle. Ji Wook grouses the hospital isn’t restful at all.

Lawyer Ji goes to visit Yoo Jung. He asks about her health. She tells him that she feels fine but she’s depressed because her life blows. He offers her food so she doesn’t have to cook. Lawyer Ji leaves. Yoo Jung stares after him.

Ji Wook returns home. Bong Hee watches Assistant Jang help Ji Wook up the stairs.

My Thoughts

Hyun Soo’s memory return is partial. I was glad to see that Bong Hee held her own in the fight with Hyun Soo until Ji Wook arrived. I was glad that Hyun Soo didn’t escape while Bong Hee fretted over Ji Wook’s knife wound. The most interesting flashback Hyun Soo had was Park So Young running away. Who was she running from?

Lawyer Ji Eun Hyuk (Choi Tae Joon) showed his concern Yoo Jung when she was injured after fighting with Hyun Soo. Lawyer Ji’s true feelings for Yoo Jung were revealed when he was afraid she’s been hurt, he helped her back to her apartment and watched her sleep, etc.

Eun Bong Hee (Nam Ji Hyun) found herself alone and face-to-face with Hyun So. He revealed a partial memory return. Bong Hee’s martial arts skills were highlighted again. Her fear and feelings for Ji Wook were revealed when he was injured.

No Ji Wook (Ji Chang Wook) remembered that Bong Hee’s father didn’t kill but rather saved. Finally, he has the memory breakthrough. He did see Bong Hee’s father in the fire BUT he didn’t remember Bong Hee’s father saving him and returning to the burning house to save his father. Why was Bong Hee’s father at the house? In a way Hyun Soo’s stab wound paved the way for Ji Wook to remember the elusive memory of what happened the night his father died.

Ji Wook is frustrating me with the same behavior. He recalled Hyun soo saying “I need to kill them all so you can understand me.” Yet he doesn’t tell the office staff so they can truly be watchful.

“The most interesting flashback Hyun Soo had was Park So Young running away. Who was she running from?” kjt

This reinforced my thoughts that Hyun soo killed her if that’s from his point of view. Otherwise he would have to be imagining that’s how she looked? Or he actually witnessed her assault?

“Lawyer Ji’s true feelings for Yoo Jung were revealed…” kjt

Whateva. Cheaters could disappear if I were Ji Wook and I’d be happier.

When Bong hee was facing Hyun soo, she should’ve just said I was your attorney. Instead, she incites him to attack when she’s alone with him. I’ve always said that, while I love her, she’s not the brightest banana in the bunch.

What is up with this show an improper ambulance procedures. This is the second time the characters are riding in an ambulance and the victim’s friend is holding the wound instead of the paramedic. The paramedic would hold the wound and give the friend the iv to hold up. I get that it would be less “drama”tic, but…

Is there one instance where hiding the truth is beneficial to those being lied to?

This reinforced my thoughts that Hyun soo killed her if that’s from his point of view.
      Yes it does.

I enjoy her too but concur she’s isn’t the smartest heroine.

  2. Jane Tilly says:

OMO, Hyun Soo’s flashback 📸 of seeing the high schooler Park So Young running 🏃 away, from Hyun Soo’s perspective leads me to believe Hyun Soo was chasing So Young. Beez’s hypothesis 📝 of Hyun Soo killing her could very well be right! It appears Hyun Soo does not have his full memory back yet. I don’t know what it is, maybe the smirk 😏 wiped off Hyun Soo’s face, but the murderer is looking mighty fine since his amnesia has set in. Don’t fret, I’m not crushing on the murderer, just simply remarking that he is looking kinda’ hot 🔥!

I have to agree with Beez’s 👀 observation that Ji Wook KNOWS Hyun Soo wants to “kill them all so you can understand me.” Ji Wook FAILED to warn the members of the law 💼 firm to be watchful.

My mind is boggled that Yoo Jung’s boss 🗣 yelled at her for losing Hyun Soo. Yoo Jung put her life at risk running after Hyun Soo, what more could a reasonable person expect⁉ Eun Hyuk clearly still cares a great deal about Yoo Jung. I’m okay with the cheaters eking out a bit of happiness, besides, these two getting together will leave Ji Hye all alone as she has been crushing on Eun Hyuk. The unlikeable Ji Hye cheated more than in her heart AND harassed Bong Hee…I’m good with her being lonely.

While I H8⃣ to see Ji Wook injured 🗡, at least the true memory of Bong Hee’s dad being a rescuer, who died alongside his parents, has come back to him. That memory makes all the difference in the world 🌏 and turns Bong Hee’s dad from villain to hero!

    • MO, Hyun Soo’s flashback 📸 of …Park So Young running 🏃 away, from Hyun Soo’s perspective leads me to believe Hyun Soo was chasing So Young. Beez’s hypothesis 📝 of Hyun Soo killing her could very well be right!
      I agree.

You are all about justice, JT.

That memory makes all the difference in the world 🌏 and turns Bong Hee’s dad from villain to hero!
Finally we know the truth, Bong Hee’s father saved Ji Wook and tried to save his parents but died in the attempt. But why was Bong Hee’s father at the house?

    • Jane Tilly says:

Justice Jane may be feeling just a bit vindictive too‼ LOL 😆

      • Beez says:

That’s rare for Jane Tilly. That wench must really be despicable! *why do I hear Daffy Duck in my head when I say that?* lol

      • Jane Tilly says:

Now that you mention it I’m hearing Daffy Duck in my head too‼. Ji Hye is the worst if the Cheaters, due to her harassing Bong Hee, when Bong Hee’s ex was the Cheater with Ji Hye that broke up the relationship.

As for Hyun Soo’s hair you are right about he bangs. My eonni frequently complains about bangs covering the flower boy/man faces. Bangs in their faces doesn’t bother me, but most of these guys look a bit hotter 🔥 with their hair swept back.

        • Beez says:

Especially if you’re over 30. C’mon! I’ve never liked Jo In Sung (even though he’s a gud actor) but I appreciate that he didn’t go with a style (bangs) just because every one else wears their hair that way. I also appreciate Song Joon ki and Yoo Ah in for the same reason (besides loving them oodles). (Interesting that those 3 are friends in real life.) I like that JCW at least mixes it up. But even my loves, or rather, especially my loves, Song Seung Heon and Joo Jin Mo need to abandon the bangs… permanently! They are no longer flower boys (not that they ever were), but are full on ahjusshis. I want to scream at them: LET IT GO! lol

      • Jane Tilly says:

So true that men over 30 should give up trying to be flower boys and adopt a look that is more age appropriate, excluding bangs.

        • Beez says:

@JT – so glad somebody else sees it too. I realize it’s a matter of personal taste, but to me, it just makes them look older than they are. I’m watching Father is Strange and there’s an actor on there whom I’ve always liked – Ryu Soo-Young. He not only has bangs, but pompadour height and a curly perm to top it off. If his hair wasn’t like that, I could believe the age he is playing of about 35. But that hair makes him look 50! (I just looked it up, he’s only 38 but the hair just brings attention to his smile lines. I like smile lines on men, btw.

    • Beez says:

I agree the actor playing Hyun soo has been looking better. I think it was getting rid of the baseball hat. THAT’S what I keep harping on with most of these actors and the bangs. The cap and/ or bangs can just put focus on a long face or round jaw line.

Also, did you notice that while Hyun soo was in a coma, they continued to have his top lid guyliner on with a very thick but smoky blended line? I’ve always been afraid of a thick line but now I’ve decided to try doing my eye liner like that now that my lids are puffier than when I was young. lol
