If I’ve got only a moment there are certain scenes I watch for a quick hit of kdrama goodness.
Today’s Favorite Scene is 1 minute of kdrama heaven from the series Healer episode 15.
The setup – The previous evening, Healer (Ji Chang Wook) had been alone and grief stricken. Young Shin (Park Min Young) breached his apartment (unannounced) and forced him to accept her presence and support.It’s the morning after the first time they’ve made love. Healer watches Young Shin sleep.
The guy watching the girl sleep is a standard kdrama scene. What makes this scene stellar and a cut above? Two words – Chang Wook.
In Addition:
* When Healer watches her sleep, you can see the love in his eyes. Chang Wook made me believe he was besotted and feeling the morning after glow.
* When Young Shin turns to her side away from him, Healer is visibly dissatisfied. It’s subtle but there.
* Taking matters into his own hands, Healer gently but effectively gets Young Shin to turn into him. He was so gentle that she did not wake up.
* Then Healer holds her, pulling her close, loving her warmth melting into him. Chang Wook made me believe that Healer was happy to just hold Young Shin.
