I was surprised when WordPress sent me the notification that amusings was 2 years old. Wow! Time goes fast!
A little history on how this blog got started…
I watch Asian dramas and love them. There is something unique about Asian dramas that American television does not have. I love the drama blogs that are out there. I read them and they enhance my viewing of shows. I decided to create my own single person blog. Writing this blog has enriched my drama watching experience more than I expected.
The 2nd year of blogging has been even more fun than the first.
* 5 days a week seems to be the sweet spot in posts per week.
* I blog what I watch typically 2 current shows a time. I also watch shows “for fun” and write a review at the end of the series (almost always).
* The Asian drama machine is relentless in quantity. There simply aren’t enough hours in day to watch every good drama. That’s why I read other blogs. They guide me with their opinions and recommendations on what dramas may or may not interest me.
* I am a Jang Hyuk fan and the 41 episode Merchant Gaekju was his latest offering. Thank goodness he loves to work, because I love to watch him.
* The current drama in my favor…If you aren’t watching Descendants of the Sun, it has been a pleasant surprise and my first drama watching the subtle adorable Song Joong Ki. I hope this drama is solid to the end because I support the production of drama series where filming is completed prior to airing the drama. You know it and I know it, series often fail in the latter half under the live shoot production process. My current “for fun” series is Good Doctor with Sungkyunkwan Scandal next up, both recommendations by readers and fellow drama lovers.
Finally…
You know what I’ve enjoyed more than anything? It’s the interaction with you. Thanks for reading, commenting, and sharing your mutual love of dramas with me.
Here’s to the next year of amusings!
Congratulations 😀

Thanks, whatever interests me is what I blog…that is strictly subjective. I appreciate all the interactions and your on point opinions.

Congratulations! Kdramas really are so much better than American TV. And I completely agree. There is simply not enough time to watch all of the wonderful dramas!
So Descendants is your first time seeing Song Joong Ki. You’ll probably really like him in S. Scandal. If you like melodramas, he was wonderful in Nice Guy. As for movies, you should definitely check him out in A Werewolf Boy. Such a touching performance 🙂
How are you liking Good Doctor? I love Joo Won, and that has been on my list for a while.

Happy Anniversary! I’ve just started reading your blog in February this year with the Merchant Gaekju. I’m a Jang Hyuk fan too.
I started watching Kdramas 3 1/2 years ago when Faith and Damo kept popping up on Hulu when the General Hospital episode I was watching was over. By the time I finished my second Kdrama, I quit watching GH in favor of having more Kdrama time–there is NO comparison! I usually watch 2 at a time–one with my unni (who converted to Kdrama 6 mos. after I did) and one by myself. It is my guilty pleasure in life!
I have enjoyed your amusing immensely! Your recaps are thorough and interesting…it is refreshing to see others perspectives and helps me to think outside of my own paradigms. It is nice to be able to discuss Kdrama with others who care!
Here’s to many more years of your amusings blog!!! Cheers! JT💋

Your story is similar to mine (but I still watch General Hospital, though I fast forward quite a bit). I totally agree that other recaps, comments like you and other viewers offer, give you a different perspective and insights that you may not garner when you watch. I’ve enjoyed all the interactions with you. Thanks!
