I’ve noticed that if I’ve got only a moment to watch a kdrama, there are certain scenes I watch for a quick hit of kdrama goodness.
Today’s Favorite Scene is the Elevator Kiss at the end of episode 3 of Que Sera Sera. It never fails to make me smile.
Nutshell – This is the first kiss for our leading couple. Our leading man is the smooth and experienced Tae Joo (Eric Mun), who is intrigued but doesn’t know quite what to do with our leading lady, naive and guileless Eun So (Jung Yoo Mi).
The setup – They’ve just had a casual dinner together. They aren’t dating. But she’s drawn to him and he can’t believe it but he’s drawn to her too. As they get into the elevator to ride up to their separate apartments, she complains about the public displays of affection, and the men constantly kissing their girlfriends. He says kissing isn’t interesting to experienced men. She asks what interests experienced men. He calls her naive. She claims to have experience. The elevator stops panicking her. She grabs him and they stare into each other’s eyes.
Tae Joo decides to give what he believes is Eun Soo’s first kiss.
Her lips are pressed together firmly and unyielding. He smiles and gently touches her lips with his. He tells her to relax her lips. She is confused and asks what?
Then he goes in for a real kiss.
Tae Joo: “You’ve never kissed before. You lied to me.”
Eun Soo: “That was fun.”
Tae Joo: “What?”
Eun Soo: “It’s fun. Want to do it again?”
Eun Soo looks at him hopefully and Tae Soo is stunned speechless.
